You can translate desfile de los boyeros to "ox cart parade", because "boyeros," are strong, slow-moving animals traditionally used to pull wooden carts, known as "carretas." There were very important animals for agriculture.
All the wooden carts are painted and very beautiful. However, you will also discover much more modern interpretations from the locals of San Jose.
The parade moves from Parque Metropolitano la sabana over Paseo Colónto to Plaza de la Democracia and happens every last Sunday in November.
