Thanks for this video! My Jeep was in a front end accident as well and had a consistent vibration. Specially in low revs. I changed the transmission mount and now the Jeep rides like new!!! Thanks!!!

Just wanted to thanks you for this rare topic video. I was is an accident and after getting the Jeep back nobody couple figure out the vibration with the engine mount being the only guess. Alas it was the transmission mount with the exact same issue as you. As a temporary fix, I cut off the the side of the loop that was touching (same spot as you). It's super quiet again.

Thanks you probably helped a few people, cause if there's no codes these mechanics don't seem to know what to do, I've been told valves are gone to rebuild the tranny to the rear diff.

I bought my 2017 jeep jku a couple of years ago knowing it had been wrecked with front end damage and body work repaired. It had a terrible vibration when put into gear with foot on break. I did research and all I could come up with was torque converter. Then I saw your video and ordered me a new transmission mount. Just installed it and the vibration is gone😊. I just bought a 2015 wrangler that was hit in the front. It vibrates at idle but it’s worse when put in drive but goes away as soon as u drive. Did u end up changing the motor mounts too?

Yep was in a lower speed front end collision and the transmission mount got bent up from the continued momentum of the powertrain. My insurance replaced it for me along with the motor mounts as well as supplemental claim to the accident.

2012 Jeep Patriot 4x4 89k Miles Was on a rough OHV trail yesterday and encountered several rock gardens that I had to navigate and of course hit a few good ones. Now when in drive at a dead stop there is a decent vibration coming from underneath the car almost sounds the middle to rear towards exhaust

@@Donnythelatemodeltech Turns out it WAS my issue! Pretty much the same story as you. Vibrations were louder when at idle at a stop light, less when in neutral. I looked at the transmission mount a week or two ago but thought it was fine - rubber was still intact, everything bolted down, etc. On a whim, I replaced it yesterday like in your video, and now the vibrations are gone. The old mount was bent forward, just like yours, so that metal was on metal. You really can't tell anything is wrong with the thing until you take it off the transmission and examine it.

I have a vibration that is rhythmic and happens at idle once the engine has warmed up on my jeep. Starts up super smooth until reaches temp. I suspect the radiator fan but nobody has been able to figure it out.

He never mentioned the socket sizes or any tools besides the power tools which you don’t need lol mid video had to go to autozone for a 16 mm deep socket. Would of been nice to have known from the get go

The sockets I needed were 18mm for the bolts and 5/8 for the nuts.

Mine is similar it doesn't happen all the time though. Mine also has a clunk sometimes when braking semi hard or hard. Clunk then vibration. It has to be this. It was in a prior accident involving the front end. The worthless dealership can't be bothered to check the mounts, so frustrating.

Follow up: it was either an engine mount or transmission mount. I had them replace them all and the issue is gone. Thanks to this video and confirmation from a couple friends. I can't believe the garage couldn't diagnose this!

Should’ve just did that.I didn’t think to just let the tank support channel bend a little so I ended up dropping the tank... pain in the ass. New mount did solve the issue though.

Everything should align back up when you replace the bent parts, mine was the just the transmount.

I also rear ended a car am i having the same problems it shifted back that much it punctured a hole in the exhaust. Ill be taking it back to repairer to have them check transmission and motor mounts now

@@Mattyau2044 yeah my impact wasn't as hard but enough to feel a vibration. My exhaust luckily hasn't suffered any either. I will be replacing the trans mount because it is slightly bent and hopefully that should be the end of that.

You didn't need to hold up transfer case. The skid plate for it just protects it.

hi so ironic I did the same thing in one year I Have a 2010 4 door my mechanic fucked my car up after the first accident by ordering a part from china and not even installing a part of the inside near the hood, they also replaced my whole front bumper and grill with I do not even know let just say it wasn't from mopar or jeep now that I Have rear ended someone again I am, semi glad the bumper and grill were not, I do not even know ho to explain what my bumper looks like after I rear ended a person again, its like crushed plastic , now this same mechanic is saying my motor mounts need replaced and I have an evap issue and that I hit the oil pan, bottom line is I do not know if you would be willing to speak on the phone... since you have had the exact same thing happen twice in the same year, I live in west palm and apparently mechanics are known to fuck up your car according to Floridians, who would have guessed a bit odd I have to say. but I could really use some knowledge and advice about how to move forward, this was my fathers car its a 2010 unlimited 4 door with only 55,000 miles, he has passed away, so obviously having this car fixed properly means everything to me....561 214 2784
