My biggest pet peeve is guys who put his 1/4s over top of rusted 1/4s . I've had 2 cars with that 🙈

There is nothing like getting the bright metal bright again on these old cars. I was amazed at what a little steelwool, polishing compound, and elbow grease will do.

Another trick that you can use to make the aluminum trim look like new is get a rag something like a t-shirt will do, then get some lacquer thinner and soak the shirt pretty good . Rub the shirt on the trim and it will make it look like you had it polished but you did not. I'v done this on two different f-100 trim pieces that say Ford on the tailgate and it's been 4 years since I did the last one and it looks like I did it yesterday.

I use Armor All or equivalent on anodized aluminum that has gone cloudy and it helps take the cloudiness away.
@AutoRestoMod4 жыл бұрын
The Patina Sauce holds up three to six months. The Armor All in my experience needs constant reapplication.

Can you do a video on how to repair dents in trim rings please?

Can do. I have some dog dish caps that might work for that. It will be a bit before we can get to it.

So if my truck as actual screws or no pop rivets, is it safe to say they are not the original ones for the truck?
@AutoRestoMod4 жыл бұрын
The clips that were originally on the trucks were blind, meaning you could not see them at all. Often there will be a sheet metal nut at the ends of the doors in the inner lip. But the F 100 didn't even get that.

Good pothole and that piece is gone should have put some silicone on backside for added insurance that you would not lose that to that crappy magnetic tape.
@AutoRestoMod4 жыл бұрын
Not crappy or magnetic. It is adhesive tape and the piece on the front fender has been on for 3 years, no worries.

@kennethstaszak99904 жыл бұрын
@@yeboscrebo4451 It isn't really an issue. All modern trim is held on by tape and there's rarely if ever an issue with trim coming off.
