This does work to some degree. While the zombies will crawl under, it won't be the entire horde, or at least, not all at once. You can use this to reduce how many zombies you have to deal with, making a horde much more manageable.

I believe this still works in the case of placing a car flush against a window if I'm not wrong. This should prevent the zombie pathing because they're not able to stand up between the car and the window to begin smashing it.

Yes and no. They can still attack doors and barricades and walls and fences and such, they just can't climb through windows (which are oddly invincible unlike low fences)

You can also turn that off in the settings to make it easier. I don't have as much time to give to the game so making it a bit easier is always important for me. That's one thing I do like about this game it can be tailored for anyone's skill levels or wants.

It did work, difference devs said "Oh, yeah?" and fixed it. Same as killing tons of zombies with fences or windows they added the lunge. They watch the community and apply bad patches to mess with us. That's why we found stuff and things to do and not share it so it doesn't get "fixed"

Fun fact:this USED to be true where cars were a unpassable barrier for zombies. At some point during b41's update cycle, they made a change for zombies to climb under cars if no other path could be found. Its still possible to revert zombies back to not crawling under cars in the sandbox settings but any zombie crawlers will still path under the cars

Car barricades used to work back in the day, but that was too easy so the devs added zombies crawling under the car. You can still make impenetrable bases now by finding a sledgehammer, and destroying the stairs in a 2 floor building btw

Cars are good to block an existing door or window so that the zombies don't break it down. They can't crawl if you use it like that. But of course you still need one opening that you can go through if you block the others with a car.

There is a way to use cars to help barricade doors and windows. If you park them directly against the building in front of a barricaded window or door, they theoretically can't stand up between the car and the building to break through an opening you've barricaded with woof as well.

You can block windows and doors by reversing a car up to it so that the trunk (or hood if you drive up forwards) is flush against it. They only seem to be able to crawl under from side to side, not lengthways.

I also think in the new build coming theyre adding destruction from hordes to a lot of things and making it more detailed. I think cars were one of them. I know that after the new build cheesing hordes with high fences will be impossible since they’ll now gather up and pull down the sections of fencing in order to get to you where now they tend to mostly walk around it and only a couple will break the fence.

What about short fences in front of tall vehicles? The short fences block the bottom access the tall vehicles (armored cars, buses, station wagons, etc) blocks climbers. And the fences work as sort of a really tight garage.

Block the door with a single car, pressed against the door. Have your exit be on the second story with a sheet rope. (Have a spare in the building) If the sheet rope gets destroyed while you're inside the base, you can use the spare. If it gets destroyed while you're outisde, you can use the car entrance.

You can block entrances with burnt cars, they do work. But if you want to go through your barriers, place two low fences and a crate between them. You can climb through it, but zeds can't. Though they'll likely patch it soon

You know there is actually one way to be safe in this game. Here's what you do, number one find a house with two stories. Number two find a sledgehammer. Number three make sure you're on the very top floor and destroy the stairs. "By the way yes he can do that." By that point you'll be completely safe from the zombies, but none of that will matter if you can't even get down to collect something. The final step is just to build a window then make a rope using Sheets or whatever, in case you're wondering no the zombies cannot climb that, that means that you can go in and out of your base and will be completely safe from the zombies, because if you go to the floor and you take out the stairs, the zombies will in fact not get you. And there you go hope that helps.

i think if the mass of the zombie horde is over the mass of the vehicle, it could either flip or be pushed along but if the mass is equal or measurable to that of the car it could rock side to side and after half a minute or so it could move to one side but if the horde is well under the mass of the vehicle, zombies could climb through it after breaking the doors and windows after a few seconds. But if the horde/group of zombies that are nowhere near the mass of the vehicle would try to push it it would take longer to smash through whilst also attracting other zombies from the area. It might be a fun idea to use

One thing you can do currently is build crates and build fences on either side of them. The zombies pathfinding tells them they should climb over the fence, but they can't due to the crate. Normally, this would result in them climbing the fence and then crouching over the crate, but the second fence prevents this. So they will be stuck there confused about what to do. This does make for very bulky walls that take a long time to set up though, and your entrances can't be made similarly impenetrable. Best thing I could stab at would be to have some combo of a car and a gate.

Heres how you get around it, and I promise everyone that it works. See, zombies can crawl under cars, but its usually through the middle of it. But your car doors are a bit on the side. The zomboids dont go under the car door area. So the best way to cover your base entrance with a car, is to align your car door to the door entrance, and you enter and exit the building through the car. Its the same idea of having the car secure your windows.
