Don't •ask• if it covers major...Ask them to show you what service it covers. Make them point out exactly where it says what it will cover. Anything they "say" it covers is non-binding...2yrs later! Scrutinize the language of what is covered and excluded. Especially if the vehicle will be used in a business.

I'd love to see you do a vehicle on the differences between CPO vehicles. I've been looking at vehicles, can't make up my mind on what I want ultimately but..... I saw one that I liked and I asked the sales guy about certified pre owned ( CPO). He said oh yeah it's certified, This was not a Cadillac dealership so I asked him if it was Cadillac certified and he said yes!!! I asked him if they had certified it and he said yes! AGAIN. He was not happy when I told him that there is no way they could sell a CPO Cadillac, certified by GM. I did not buy that truck. Not all CPO's are equal.

I get two oil changes a year, and looking at the manual, there’s no major services till 100k miles. It’s pretty much oil changes, tire rotation, inspections, air filters. All stuff I could do myself if I had a place to do it.

Some car dealers say if you do the maintenance here, they we will warranty the car. I have even heard of a dealer saying if regular car maintenance is done even not at the dealer, then the car will be warrantied. Therefore, no need for an extended warranty is needed.

I enjoyed my Ford maintenance plan as it was prepaid so just dropped in for the service without worry of payment. Only issue with modern vehicles is the oil change intervals are 7.5 or 10k and not much else in their needs of maintenance

I got a year or 3 oil changes. I also got FordPass awards so I had 35k points and and oil change and tire rotation was only 13k points. So just by purchasing the car and prepaid maintenance I don’t have to pay out of pocket for at least two years.

Dealers don’t like me. I do maintenance and all repairs myself. Oil changes every 3k miles. All other fluids are changed yearly regardless of miles. Excessive maybe. But both my vehicles have over 400k miles. No issues yet

I just looked at used 2009 Dodge that had been sitting on the dealer lot for six months. It has 13 year old tires and an eight year old battery. Asking price is $3,000 over NADA. I was told they wouldn't negotiate because of the desirability of the car. I thanked them for their time and suggested they take it easy on the devil's lettuce they have been consuming.

Hey there @whatchhathh385 from Michigan! Personally, not a fan. I will always stick with a dealership administrator. They have strict guidelines in order to get into a dealership. Non-dealership admins, like the ones on-line, in mailers, phone calls and even in some credit unions, make their own rules and can do what they want. I'll do a video on them soon! Thank you so much!!

This is an easy NO, you do not need a maintenance plan. Every grown adult in America should be able to do basic maintenance on their vehicle, and be able to asses if a prospective vehicle will be more trouble than it's worth.
@AutoFinanceSense
@AutoFinanceSense Жыл бұрын
I agree, that would be nice!! @rnt45t1 ! Thank You!
@Cocora22
@Cocora22 Жыл бұрын
I 100% agree. Learning how to take care of your vehicle is not just good for the vehicle, but your wallet will appreciate it the most. Additionally it means that you are paying attention and will notice changes in your vehicle, ahead of time. That way if it's still under warranty you can get it serviced under the warranty. If you bought an extended warranty ( VSC) then you can take advantage of that policy.

Some people live in a HOA community and “car maintenance” is often against the restrictions in the driveway. I got a letter for simply installing a subwoofer and had the hood open to connect the power wire to the battery. I had to explain it was simply an electrical install with no fluids were changed.

Lol, I just got home from the grocery store. Some poor lady was having a meltdown next to the Butterball turkeys. She kept telling her poor husband to look again, because she HAS to have a 20lb turkey! Apparently they were all out of that size. So yeah, people will cry over anything these days!

Hi @gorgeouslady5612 Vehicle Service Contracts (a/k/a "extended warranties") are contracts you purchase to fix breakdown or repair. Warranties come from the manufacturer on brand new cars.
