I’ve been car camping/traveling for years and have a few favorites I’d like to mention. For safety : My maxtrax recovery boards have saved me a few times, actually I have a generic brand and they works great. Also love my Garmin InReach. For comfort, love my Geyser Portable shower with pop up shower tent, for cooking love my electric kettle and my JetBoil Genesis (worth every penny) and my best purchase was my roof top cargo box so I can bring tons of goodie’s without cluttering the car. Oh and my dometic portable fridge cuz ice is a pain. 😊

@@roamingreckless I bought a used dometic cfx 35 cooler/fridge when I was working on a van build that didn't work out last summer. Have used it the past year in my apartment that doesn't have a full size fridge and I LOVE IT. Planning to use it in my outback soon 😊 they can run off of wall outlets, your cig lighter, and portable batteries like a jackery or solar set up. They have an eco/battery protect mode so they won't kill your battery.

@@roamingreckless I have the Dometic CFX3 35 Liter. Fridge and freezer. They sell a 25 liter too and in hindsight that would have been better. I power it with my bluettui power bank. You can power it AC/DC and solar. No more ruined food from melted ice or having to get ice every 3 days. There are less expensive brands. I’ve heard good things about iceco.

I have so, so many but off the top of my head - and with yours being a given - is my BlueLink car system which uses cell and satellite service. I know everyone can't have that but having help and directions ALWAYS available, especially with my ADHD challenges, has been a Godsend. My other ones are a weBoost, electric kettle, rice cooker (you can cook EVERYTHING in a rice cooker), lap table (it goes from the driver's seat to the passenger seat and provides a big level surface so I can cook inside my SUV), 12 volt fridge, bug screens, rain guards, bear spray, folding solar panels, folding 2 burner camp stove, Hot Logic, art supplies, kindle, tablet, phone, and fans.
@deanobrovo8595
@deanobrovo8595 3 ай бұрын
The Hot logic would be crucial, even more so than the rice cooker or gas stove. Especially for suburban/stealth camping. I do like the Dash rice cooker though, and a variety of gas stoves.
@serenityjewel
@serenityjewel 3 ай бұрын
@deanobrovo8595 Hot logics are great for warming food but they take way too long to cook food. I meal prep once a week, especially when I'm urban camping, so my stove and rice cooker are needed while my hot logic is nice to have.

Howdy from your neighbor in Ontario, you definitely hit all the essentials but a few I'd add. Get a bottle of tire slime (the green stuff) put in tire if you run over a nail, it'll seal it. Cheap 6X10 tarp and some twine, tie from roof rack to a tree/bush for rain shelter and shade - a life saver in this heat. Bug window socks, keep bugs out and have a breeze through car at night, they slip over the door frame in 2 seconds when you arrive at your spot. Cheap LED light string, I put them up over grab handles along inner roof and gives nice ambient light at night, runs forever off 3 AA batteries. A beastly hunting knife, serves many purposes, sleep beside it if needed :) If I was a full timer I'd def do a folding solar set up to charge the battery pack and portable AC would be a must

A jump starter pack with a built in air pump would be a really handy thing to have with you when you're on the road. You never know when you might accidentally run down the car's battery for some reason or other. With a built in air pump, you don't have to buy a separate air pump.

You are probably too young to know what that 'car port' thingy is but it was originally designed to be used for a pop-up car cigarette lighter. I'm old enough to have used one for many years as a young teenager. I don't smoke anymore but in the 80's and 90's they were very common (as well as ashtrays in the car also).

I have a camp stove like yours and love it, butttttttt I went to get more butane fuel for it and was told there was a shortage of it. So plan "B", I bought a butane adapter hose so that I could use the green bottles of propane and since they are still in the stores and not as of now, shortage, I'm good. They also last longer. P.S. I put the butane cans on my Amazon wish list and they came in stock so I placed an order for like 20 cans, only to be told they is a limit of 4 per customer, there's still a shortage of butane, ugh. Hope this helps and I'll be getting that table you showed, thanks Maria!!

It’s much more economical (and better for the environment) to get a little 5pound refillable propane tank. I got mine at REI. It’s super cute and lasts forever. Much cheaper to refill than buy separate one pounders.

Ok I will try to be short. This is just me not recommending necessarily. I have these super light cargo pants that unzip at the legs. And I pack like 4 t shirts, and thermal underwear for anything cold, a pair of shorts. Socks etc. but that’s it. On towels I swear by those super thin cotton towels? Idk what they are called! Just super thin cotton beach towel throw waste wrap things. Ditch all towels. Maybe a face towel or two. With my towels and those super thin (camping tent thin) zip off pants my entire clothes section boils down to like a couple shoeboxes. I’ve gone way i to the weeds on video gear too. I shot this entire blog on just a gopro. Plus maybe keep the drone. Sure u are gonna lose stuff but gopro with a foam wind muff thing. Idk, I just think it’s crazy what people do (not judging haha) it does everything, it’s the size of a matchbox and I have a little handle on it that turns into a quick tripod. Audio is great. May not work for u but I think you’d be surprised. I’m totally into minimalism though. I hate the extra stuff. I think of it like editing script… edit shit out, edit shit out, edit shit out and put back in only the quality stuff you know for a fact you need… not preaching! Haha just what I do :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3-nqIyqfs6DjsU

I'm just kidding about you and I doing that video but it's something that I haven't wanted to do I just haven't found somebody crazy enough to want to do that. I got my Hyundai Veracruz set up to live that life. If I knew I could make a living doing KZbin I would sell my clients to my boss and tell him I would still work for him but remotely just consulting and advising. He does send me on the road a lot and I've been to All the Way North to Canada, south Florida, east to Pennsylvania, and west on Colorado. I would always drive there and then fly back. And the best part about these trips since it's a business trip he paid for everything on every trip.
