I have always wanted to go to Yellowstone, thank you for taking us along. I'll stay tuned for part 2:)

A new day, a new adventure. Magnificent thunderstorms! Your Yellowstone videos are beautiful! Can't wait for part 2. Sorry for the high price oil change. When there's not that many choices in the area, the prices can be high. Hope you get that mouse. Congrats on crossing another milestone in subscribers. I hope that while you're in the greater Yellowstone area you get a chance to see the Tetons. Continued safe travels.

That is outrageous Sydnie, $164.00 for an oil change? WTF? You got robbed. I have an F250 Super Duty diesel. I use synthetic oil and my truck takes 3,5 gallons of oil. That plus a filter doesn't cost that much. Granted I change my oil myself but that is a ridiculous price. I hope you went back and straightened that out.

Yellowstone is such a cool park to see. Overtourism has killed access to see it for most. Way too many people. Glad you got to see some of it. I last went in 2018 and got to see most of it besides Grand Prismatic. Tour buses blocked the parking lot. Big sad. ...... That bison was trying to "scratch" his back.

Yeah it was super crowded but I expected that. It's hard to get parking at every park I've been to after 10 am it feels like

Sydnie, If you have to be out there in your car exposed to lightning, always make sure your windows are closed, ok? If your car would get struck there could be damage or burn marks but you'd be safe. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF & SAFETY ALWAYS.

You don't need to do an oil change straight away. It's recommend at an X amount of miles to keep the engine in tip top shape. However missing a change for awhile isn't going to harm it, providing you usually get it changed regularly. Easiest way to tell is by pulling the dipstick and having a look. If the oil is still golden than there is no rush

Life has three states, going into a storm, in a storm, and coming out of one, good to find the joy.

As soon as I seen the storm I said to my fiance I bet she was there when we were in Ennis! That week was crazy weather! Went from 80 to 55 in 10 minutes the wind was just as crazy! We enjoyed it tho, sat on the porch and watched the first storm roll in.

Depending on the vehicle and oil in vehicle, you can actually run several hundred miles over the limit. My most recent oil change was around 600 miles over. I'm clueless how far Yellowstone is from Denver so totally possible you needed the oil change now especially with the temperature and altitude change with going to Denver. I agree with the cost of the oil change. Did you look at your print out of what they all done? I hope that included an oil filter, filled up tires with air, topping off all of the vehicle fluids and a new car freshener. You have bad case of mice so car may stink a bit of rodent.

Could you go into a little more detail about how you find spots to park overnight? Are they always designated camping spots or do you just find somewhere remote?
@sydniestateofmind3 ай бұрын
I use iOverlander to find spots and 90% of the time they are designated camping spots with fire rings but in a pinch I'll sleep in a pull off. As far as remoteness, it depends if I have a lot of driving or have to get up early the next day. If so, I will pick a spot close to a main road/highway. Sometimes the only camping spot is pretty far from a main road and you can't do anything about it. I look at the reviews and pictures people post about the spots and I prefer they have cell service. That dictates a lot of the spots I pick too, especially if I'm going to be there awhile.

I'll echo the $164 for an oil change is kind of high. Were there any other items changed or services done? I do know Jiffy Lube likes to upsell those. Sorry about the mouse... :( Hopefully having your food in a box or cooler will help with not attracting them in the future. I'd like to think your water is also not mouse accessible, so if you don't catch the mouse, the mouse may leave to look for food or water.

$164 for oil change? What else did they get you on? Air filter? Cabin air filter? BTW the oil change frequency range is recommended, not required. You could drive another couple thousand miles without any issues whatsoever. Also, you will be told different numbers. The manufacturer will tell you one thing, but those that get paid to change it will tell you a different number. Even my car lets you adjust the reminder to whatever range you want it at.

$164 for an oil change?!? No!!! For future reference, when the light comes on, you still have 15 percent of oil life before the recommended time to change oil (so, like, 500-plus miles) -- and you're not going to run out of oil if you drive those 500 miles. Sorry you got robbed! Have you bought an annual national park pass?
