Scoveston Fort was designed to have 32 guns but they were never installed due to rising costs and the fort was never garrisoned, it was used as an air raid shelter for civilians during WWII and used to store munitions prior to D Day. But there was no moat (it's not a medieval fort) but ditches to deter the enemy, which never came. It does however have some dark history as serial killer John Cooper, the man behind the Scovetson Park killings in 1985, hid stolen items in the fort and implements he used to restrain his victims, and in 2005 a local doctor committed suicide close to the fort.

Me and my mate eat a pork selection when we went to France and it hadn't been in a fridge for a week, and was 28 degrees Celsius. The pork had turned green, but after quite a few drinks and feeling starving we fried it for quite a while with some onion, and was absolutely perfect, and no dodgy stomachs in the morning. So don't worry about it to much with beef or pork, only worry about chicken and fish! Have a good one matey. Neil

They make a lead to attach your powerstation to your car battery/alternator, so when you're driving it will power it up so much faster than any other way, I bought one and I'm going to have an auto electrician install it, just so I don't damage my car...lol. I have the huge 400W solar panels from ecoflow, and a good place to store it when not in use, under your body while you sleep, I had it under my mattress and it was no problem at all, easy to pull out when you need it then.

If you are interested, there are many of these kind of fortresses and comparable things in the Netherlands, both from around 1810 (Napoleontic, against a possible French invasion) and then again from around 1900 (against a possible German invasion). Many are restored, some repurposed, some are still 'wild'. The architecture seems to be comparable. If ever you decide to bring your sparkling personality over to the continent, I would be happy to show you around.

@@wanderingwhere Try the ferry to / from Hoek van Holland / Hook van Holland, it might be closer and shorter for you. Avoid Amsterdam like the plague. And like all locals, I could take you off the beaten path and show you the places where (foreign) tourists are very unlikely to go or show up. Drop me a line whenever you would feel so inclined. Nuffin' shabby, I promise 😄
@G.D.Traveller2 жыл бұрын
@@wanderingwhere Oh, before I forget: north of Amsterdam there are mostly bunkers from WW2 and the Atlantic Wall. If old fortresses are your thing, you would have to look more south. Do a search on "Hollandse Waterlinie". There are two.

That’s why they use puppets to promote their products . For this dude I do agree it’s more practical to have an EcoFlow as he’s a car camper but he’s completely wasting his time with that solar panel in UK winter sun . Not even worth unfolding it .
