Car Charging with a Battery Tender (12 and 6 Volt System)

Demo used on most cars, C7 Corvette and 12 Volt Lawn Mower. This Video is a review and demo of the Battery Tender for Car Charging (most cars) with 12 system. Battery Tender can also be used on 6 volt systems. Not used on Lithium Jell Cell Batteries. Video is demonstrated by Corvette Hop. This video uses the 3 amp Battery Tender.

I have five battery tenders charging three cars, a generator, and a lawn mower, all stored for the winter. I strongly recommend using a quality battery tender for best performance. My car batteries typically last years (yes, years) longer with battery tenders. Also, don't use a battery charger to hold a charge-you'll probably wind up overcharging the battery, thus ruining it. My question is this: I have been told to plug the battery tender into AC power first, THEN attach the leads to the battery. You suggest the opposite way, connect the leads, then plug the tender in. I tried doing research on the way to connect properly and cannot find any info on the subject. Can you shed some light on this subject? Thanks -->>Ric

I do not think it matters with the Battery Tender as it has built in safety preventing spark during connections. However, I do normally plug in the battery tender first. Also, thank you for the comments. It sounds like you and I have the same fix for all our batteries during the winter months.

Hello, did you had to filled the oil breaded line before you screw it from engine or back of center bezel on your c3 corvette . I want to know if air will mess up the ready of my gauge . Thank you sir

No, it was fine. It vents through the system on its own.
