I tried it. My 2 headlights were both yellow but one is 10 years older than the other. This worked great on the newer one. It looks new again. It removed the yellow from the older one but its still foggy. Its too far gone, will need something stronger or replacing.

@@dennisbradley5620 I did another video on the Turtle Wax kit. That is essentially a wet sanding kit. You might want to give that a shot. It’s at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIPMd5xmotSrp7Msi=7v86SL9lUDXPucA3

@JZ_Cars ive tried the turtle kit before. Was the first thing i tried. The mother mag polish worked better and can also use it to polish my mags!

@JZ_Cars also the bad one is 18 years old so probably an extreme case. Glad i had one that worked well coz if they were both as old as each other and both didnt work, i would have just thought it was a bad idea. So it CAN work 100%, but there are limits. So worth a try, worst case you have some mag polish for your mags.

@@dennisbradley5620 Your headlight is too far gone for these methods. I have seen headlights like that. I’m sure there is a point where most methods won’t work. I used a Rupes disc with the Rupes Mini on some that were very stubborn. Even did a video on that as well. I’ve also seen where people go with a very aggressive sanding method and then hit them with 2k clear. Of course the easiest solution might be to replace the light. Depends on the car.

Your car's headlight already looks almost clean. It is little bit fogy. Yes there is a difference in before and after. 👍

You’re absolutely right. I had previously polished them and haze started to come back, in which case it usually means you need to wet sand. I did a separate video about that using the Turtle Wax kit and you can see the lights definitely had a degraded coating on them.

So do most rubbing compounds, cleaner waxes, spray detailers and spray lubricants. It's all a matter of how often you want to do it.

Yes, this does work

Thanks for watching and commenting Kevin! I will say it sometimes doesn’t remain looking good for a long time and in those cases, it typically means you will need to wet sand. I have a couple of other badly filmed videos on that process as well 😁

Thank you! I actually ended up doing another video on the same vehicle. This time using wet sanding. There were some areas in the headlight Mothers couldn’t remove.

@@JZ_Cars Ah sweet! I was actually writing a question about a video with sanding too, can you link me to it? That's my always go to process, sanding with 600 all the way to 3000 - compound, polish and ceramic coating. I'd love to see your results and method. Thanks!

Well so I used the Turtle Wax kit in this video. It is wet sanding in the very basic sense. Below is the link. I can also link you to one where I used a Rupes Mini to wet sand on the Crown Vic. I tried the Turtle Wax kit on the Crown Vic but it didn’t make a dent in the appearance. So I went with the Rupes machine and Rupes X Cut discs. I’ve done similar to what you mentioned starting with 600 grit and stepping through several levels of coarseness. It really just depends on the car and just how bad they are and how stubborn the coating is. German cars are some of the worst I’ve encountered. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIPMd5xmotSrp7M
