I will give you an advice . After you stick the reflector to the windscreen it will be more easy to position the unit below the reflector if you power it on , so you can see if the image fits correctly on the reflector :)

Thanks for this video! I installed mine in about 15 minutes. I didn't use the reflective sheet as I can see it fairly clearly without. Hard to read the menu number upside down. I am still tweaking the various modes, but overall, a nice little well made unit with vital information displayed. My car has neither an RPM gauge, a water temperature gauge or a voltage meter on the dash. In the garage, the display is bright, but not overly so. Thanks again for providing this video. Much appreciated!!!

I like the engine over temperature alarm although I don't know what the set-point is (wish I did) and don't like that I cant change the set-point. I like knowing what my engine temperature is and my speed. The engine RPM over-speed alarm, and MPH display are good features IMO. I don't give a shit what my instantaneous fuel consumption is, and I think the fuel consumption calculation slows down the MPH and other data updates. I would like to turn the fuel consumption calculation off but cant so I covered it with black electrical tape. Also I covered the meaningless shit on the bottom right with electrical tape.

Very good video. My only criticism is that it appears you installed the windshield film oriented horizontally but my film came with labels that clearly says to apply it vertically. In fact, if I had applied it as you did I would not be able to get the full display to reflect onto the film and I think that it shows in your video as it appears the bottom of your display is not projected on the film but rather on your windshield glass....If you look carefully at the reflected display it fits the width of the film only when the film is applied vertically. This allows drivers of different heights to see the reflected display from different points of view.
@JosePerez-bi4ge5 жыл бұрын
You can get a great picture on the windshield by making a "rectangle" with some very very light tiny or mirrored tint that is very transparent, if you cant find the light mirrored you can find it in the rolls that go lighter as they go to the top of the side window. You can barely see it on the windshield but it makes the image so clear and bright even in the daytime which is the best benefit of it.

The only thing I would add is.. when you apply the reflective screen,spray the windshield ,peel the back side off and very gently press it on the wet window,then peel the front protector off. SIT IN THE DRIERS SEAT. Use your finger nails to slide it in the right position ..then use the squeeze and paper towel to get the water out ... Great Video ThankX

Nice video, very informative. I would also add that the device in this video, is clearly set with the left hand drive market in mind. This is evident from the input being placed only on the left. If installed in a right hand drive vehicle the lead will exit to the centre of the dash rather than towards the ‘A’ pillar.

First, congrats for be able to read that indecipherable users manual. Your instructions were very useful in helping me set up the device. I disabled most of the display that I didn't need, such as the water temp, fuel consumption, etc. I use only the tach and speedometer. I also set up the tach over rev warning. Very cool, just checked my car. It's a Ford Taurus 2006 and yup I've got a OBD which I wasn't sure about. Think I'll pick one of these gadgets up. But before I buy, need to check my states laws about this first. I had a old Ford LTD station wagon before this car, that had a small 6 inch crack about 3 inches from the bottom center of my windshield (there when I got it from my brother). So I was late for work and got pulled over for speeding (70 in a 50). Cop wrote the ticket and gave me a warning about the crack. Said I needed to fix it, because it was an obstruction of view.

+Christopher Reese It does sound very strange but being 2005, I can only guess maybe your Suzuki is not sending out speed and tach info on the OBDII, but only trouble code for diagnosis. C'mon really? Having this thing is like duct-taping a home AC unit to the window of your car and pretending your car has genuine air-conditioning.

There were a lot of vehicles from GM back in the 80’s and 90’s that had this built in to the vehicle. Those were good times. Not sure how many companies had this besides GM

It's not fluid, it looks rubbish and if you happen to forget it in the car people will break in your car to steal it.

Why would someone break into a car to steal a heads up display, exactly?

( I know this comment is old, sorry about that ) Dude, people will break into a car just to get a few pennies ( if you have some in sight )...

Someone is going to break into a car for a cheap HUD? I have had a similar one in my car for over a year now and no problems.

Well I did get one. Looks good when it’s not sunny but when the sun is out you can’t see squat.

The OBD-II connector / port has 16 terminals. It is by SAE that it be located in 22 inches of the steering wheel. The only two (Identical badge swap) vehicles are vans, that both because of the center console has the OBD-II inside a little door on the passengers side of the console. Technically as a “Crow Flies” it falls in the 22 inches, but barely. The US and England both use standard measurement like gallons instead of liters. I would think the huge US market would allow for changing via simple programming. I guess not. Safety glass has been around since the 1930’s. The “Tucker” with moving headlights as you turn, was one of the first use it in passenger vehicles. The DOT classify vehicles into different categories so if researching, be careful. A motor vehicle usually refers to “Semi” tractors that hitch onto various trailers but is not a pickup truck from a country song. (East bound and down) different deal. Thank Jerry Reed! But holes with captured nuts are found in most pickups since 1965. Only by the production date of July, 1st 1970 was required and no longer an option a salesman could order. This was common place into the 70’s as the customer was always right! Try that today. Information travels from a PCM via class-2 serial data. High Speed serial data was used by GM on the 2004 Corvette. It was also keyless to start. Upper left on OBD-II connector is cavity #1 = UART, #2 = class-2, #4 = chassis ground, #5 = computer ground, #6 & #16 is high speed local area network. #16 = B+ Hot all the time. There are others but most are left to the manufactures can use for any reason or left empty. Interesting product, to bad about liters/kilometers and plastic on windshield as dashes are different and windshields are shaped different so in dead center, may look crooked. Good information in the video, much more shots & views of the device than I expected. Thank you, great job of presentation. It is work to get the footage, edit, over-dubbed sound. Nice job! All windshields on vehicles are safety glass(laminated plastic between 2 pieces of glass), unless you have a vehicle before the late 1950's.

I like my HUD display... but decided not to have it directly in front as it was too distracting. Also that plastic stuck on the windscreen is just not good enough to see through. Ive moved my HUD to one side now and done away with the plastic on the wind screen. It is good and works well

YES, THIS DEVICE WILL WORK WITH ANY CAR BUILD AFTER 1996, THEY ALL HAVE OBD CONNECTOR UNDER THE DASHBOARD.

Very nice, but I have a question: does this HUD miss focus your eyes when you are driving? Also, I've noticed that the gas consumption doesn't work at all, can you give me the reason? Thank you
@dial2fast7 жыл бұрын
The display doesn't change your focus. The mileage doesn't work because my car doesn't support it. OBD is a standard but all car manufacturers may or may not support certain parameters.

dial2fast Thanks for your response. l am appreciate that

dial2fast basically this units fully work with cars that are new that have this but you have to pay for the upgrade from manufacture. still works with any car but all futures don't work right?

It looks very nice at night but not in the day since you can see the device itself clearly, but I guess that's mostly because you had to stick that screen on your windshield. Great video though, I'm definitely going to look into it.
