So, this almost happened to me. I was coming home after a night shift from my construction site. I was already sleepy, and it was the frigid 2023 December, so my speed was limited to 30 km/h. I didn't know back then that street lights were not functional on this narrow road. I kept on going, and there was this car with high beams on which totally blinded me. My eyes are already sensitive to intense lights, on top of that I was sleepy, so I began slowing down. Thank God I did that, because if I hadn't, I would've fallen into an open ditch where drainage work was being done! No caution tape or reflective tape was given there, nor were there any other methods implemented to warn commuters about the area. After that, I called my Dad to let him know I might be a few more minutes late because I was shaken from this incident. I approached the idiot inside the car, and realised the guy was drunk and snoring hard!🤦🏻‍♂️ I could hear the snoring from inside the car! He left all lights on. I gathered myself and headed back home after taking a few pictures to show my superior. Dunno what happened later on. I was never updated on it.

In the video crane was visible just before the collision and you have spotted yellow number plate on car just because it had high beam on. 😂 and concluded it was cab. Which is an example of confirmation bias.

If you notice carefully at 0:31 you can see the reflection of the infotainment system off the windshield. The driver was changing the radio station seconds before. Very likely that the driver's eyes were not on the road.

I would like to momentarily do upper and dipper where there is low visibility just to be safe. I had a similar situation a couple of years back. Luckily my Father who was on the co driver seat spotted it and I could slow down further and prevent a mishap. The only time I think I would thank bad roads ridden with potholes is this case. Due to the condition of the road I was already at a relatively lower speed. Putting branches of trees during day time is fine. But during night they should have used some kind of reflector to warn oncoming traffic. Hazard would be the best option.

Ok, clearly it was the truck drivers fault to not have placed a reflective hazard triangle much before the site it is parked and switch on the hazard light. But, a big but there, even in this vedio, the reflectors of the truck are visible from almost 100-200 meters away. The car driver is really an idiot who is inattentive and rash and overspeeding.
