Four wheel (or ALL wheel drive) won't help for shit if you DON'T HAVE GOOD SNOW TIRES. WAY to many people think their "all season" and AWD will get them through. On my winter beater (88 S-15 Jimmy, REAL 4 WD) I run gnarley ass STUDDED snows, plus 120 pounds of sand over the rear axle. AND for shits and grins, I got a set of GOOD chains. I also have a -40 degree sleeping bag, warning triangles and electronic "strobe" lights that I can put out, a coal shovel and some snacks. Haven't needed to use them yet, but with all the crazies out there it's better to be safe than sorry. AND front and rear dash cams. AND I LOVE driving around in the snow and watching all the hot dogs in action.

@@stevedawson256 You're not alone there. If I was to guess, a lot of these clips showed people driving close to the posted speed limit, maybe faster. People got to learn to slow it down, snow tires and AWD/4WD don't make you invincible, they only help a little bit. Packed down snow turns into ice at the bottom layer, one thing these speeders don't realize, and when you try to stop or maneuver, well we just saw the results of that.

A couple of things. If you can see the break lights of the person in front of you and there is snow or rain on the road you're to close or going to fast. Then that one clip where that white car is sliding down the road and that guy steps out and grabs the person hanging on to the side was a superman move.

Does everyone get in their vehicle see snow/ice adnd think same speed as usual ? They are going full speed, oversteering, standing on their brakes, and driving too close. Should be - 10x distance than normal to the vehicle infront, slow down, cadence brake instead of holding it (on full ice even with ABS), as traction control and ABS dont work so well on ice as it thinks the slide means its stopped.
