Hi! It’s completely plug-and-plug! The wiring harness is made for the Smart - just plug it in, and everything works! I have used it now for months, and I love it!

I picked up one of these units for my 2016 453. Did you route the USB cables to somewhere? Curious if anyone else has done this, going to install it tomorrow and looking for suggestions as I also got a USB Carplay adapter with it and want to be able to plug in my iPhone and possibly other USB storage options. Thanks for posting the video, this helped me decide to get mine. Might also add the JBL speakers at some point in the future too!

Mark Guertin yes, I ripped out the 12v cigarette lighter in the middle (between the seats), and installed a USB connector instead :-)

Good to know. I actually got things sorted out. I ended up putting mine into the little slide out compartment on the passenger side of the center console and keeping a couple of the bits that go with them in there (a USB key full of music and audiobooks and a Zbox carplay adapter). So far so good, I didn't really have anything else in that little drawer anyway so it's a good use for it for me and keeps things nice and tidy. Was easy to route to it as well (down the side by the glovebox and out the bottom).

Alfredo Alcañiz the unit can handle more speakers, but you will struggle finding space for them in the ForTwo. Best option is to upgrade the door speakers and install tweeters.

Have you managed to make any of the steering wheel button programming work? That's the only thing I haven't gotten working yet (which is a bummer as they advertise that you can change them and I really wanted this option). I did also figure out how to reprogram the left touch buttons (you can have short press and long press options on some of them).

It's not so much that they didn't make a next track button, but the head unit it supposed to be able to work to reprogram all he steering wheel buttons (that's what they advertise), but apparently it does not. On the one I just got it is also giving me errors that some of the software is illegally installed which is a bit troubling. I'm waiting to hear back from them about that.

I've never used Siri, so I don't actually know if the unit works with Siri. For navigation, I normally use Waze, and this works perfect on this Android unit :-)

Yes, in the hole for the center speaker. I opened the hole, and fed the wire though. It took quite some time to find the hole for the wire, but it is there! :-)

Great video...I'm looking to purchase the same unit but have some questions. Can you play iTunes from IPhone connected directly to the aux jack? I need a way to play music directly connect for the best quality. Can you use the rca plugs to connect to aftermarket amps? What features work from the IPhone and how does it communicate to the Android, Bluetooth or Aux? I'm ok if the iPhone can make and receive calls via Bluetooth and you can use maps via Bluetooth.

Jacopo Struglia you just unplug the old radio and plug in the new one. It comes with an adaptor, so wires fit!

Well it looks like I'll probably be taking my unit out tonight ... after a couple days in the car it is smelling up my whole car, the thing gets SUPER hot and smells like burning/melting rubber. Have you had any of those sorts of issues? It seems to take about 1 to 1.5 hours and by that time I smell like a burnt circuit board. I opened the unit and don't see any signs of damage but the smell is unbearable. It's hard to get a response from them -- I emailed them about some supposedly illegal software on the unit that I can't uninstall and they went totally silent. They seem pretty sketchy :/

Will this work with iPhone over Bluetooth? Play music over Bluetooth etc ? I have the Tom Tom media system and hate the interface and the Bluetooth has been playing up and I’m constantly having to soft reset the system :(

Thanks - I've read somewhere that it does NOT work with the JBL system. I believe it's because of the amplifier under the driver's seat.

Hi , i bought the unit last year but just had it installed. The installer must have done something wrong because i can't get any of my regular AM radio stations . Even doing the scan function, it won't land on a station. FM no problem. Did he forget to connect a wire?

I made the mistake of buying from this company and ended up getting a used unit that someone else had paired their phone with and downloaded maps to, and it seems that they massively overheated it as well as it smells like burned electronics (and still does weeks later). I had to fix the touch screen calibration myself because it was way off and it also had illegal software installed on it. In going back and forth with support they want me to spend over $100 to ship it back to them so they can "look into" replacing it. It also doesn't work with any of my steering wheel controls in my Smart 453 and the mounting bracket doesn't work properly with the silver backing piece for the stereo mount because there are connectors in the way of it so I had to mount it without the extra backing piece. Oh yes, it also doesn't provide enough USB power to reliably run the USB carplay unit if you also have a thumb drive attached to it and it didn't come with the latest software for it (which was difficult to find). This all feels a lot like a scam to me so buyers beware.

Then you probably got lucky because the more I dig into this the more I find that other people have had the same issues as me. They are also asking me to lie on the value of the item if I do return it (they asked to put the value down as only $76.50 otherwise they will have problems getting it back without having to pay extra duties on it) ... but funny enough they don't seem to care that they shipped me a used and faulty unit and won't stand behind their warranty unless I pay up more money and lie when returning it.

Jacob Green The reason that we dont have AM is the antenna which is amphified is not connected to the wire which should be blue and labled power antenna.

jeankier Hi! Although the ForTwo and ForFour are a little different (and the ForFour is not sold in the US), I have seen several owners installing this in their ForFour as the original radio is the same in both ForTwo and ForFour... Enjoy it!
