Congratulations for opening back up Cruising. I grew up with cruising I really loved it. I’m from the Northern California we would go out to experience different cruises. I got to experience Hollywood cruise Whittier Boulevard Graffiti nights get inspiration ideas and try to make your car or truck motorcycle unique those were one of my greatest memories in life meeting new people I have my 54 Chevy Hardtop in the works when it’s done want to do it again all the hard work being sober for 21 yrs now it is time enjoy life again ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽

With gas ⛽️ prices at $5.00 I am not going cruising. I go to work and back home at most. Them cruising cars give maybe 8-12 miles to the gallon. That benefits the state and that is why they saw interest into making cruising legal.

I was the last generation to cruise in the 80’s in California before they outlawed it. It was just a museum type gas guzzling car. Any car would cruise. It was about seeing your friends and hanging out. Watch the movie American Graffiti

I had a 1940 Mercury Convertible that I used to drive all the way to Phoenix to go cruising. East Mesa is where I lived and we would get a group of at least 5 cars to make the trip together. Man that was living, my how things have changed.

Lmao. I grew up there and it was no bueno for anyone who actually wanted to go anywhere. There aren't a ton of side streets that go all the way through like whittier blvd does and its just as slow because theres traffic all the time. The cruisers used to use the side streets too to turn around and cruise down the other way. So yeah, alot of people were S.O.L.! It mostly happened at night and on the weekend though, esp sunday so less people in an actual hurry. But of course its all working class neighborhoods all around so lots of people were still trying to go to work or running their errends. I admit it was annoying sometimes! Also some act kinda dumb, lol. Yelling at you out the window just messing around being loud and obnoxious, lol. (All good until the bangers get drunk and high, then its time to head out!) Hopefully it will be more chill this time around 😅

Cruising was popular in the rural south also starting in early 1970s. They had nothing to do on the weekend so they cruised Main Street every weekend. It ended in 2000s when the shooting started.

😆Lmao! My grandparents lived off the corner of whittier and rosemead in pico rivera and all the cruisers used to use their little side street to turn around and get back on the main st. She wrote letter after letter after letter until the city closed off their street so they couldn't use it anymore, lol. I remember as a kid there was so much traffic! Also! Unrelated...but wonder if anyone reading this remembers the mangled cars the po used to put out on the corners to scare people into driving safe and sober, lol. We must be licensed, the car registered, and insured ... PERIOD ... Where we go, how many times we drive down the same road, who is in or not in the car, how much gas you leave in the tank, where you park (legally), and any other meddling intrusive question the State may come up with, is irrelevant ... In short, the anti cruising 'law' should have never existed to begin with ... And its removal is the best remedy, to show equal justice for American citizens.
