The auction seems to work off a pretty simple algorithm. Whatever it has as estimated value, you will pay more than if you want to car. I have bought 10 to get the achievement. Every time I have paid just over the shown estimated value. I have still made good money flipping them but if you expect to win one under that value, forget it. It doesn't even matter how close you cut it to the bid deadline, the computer will always bid until it tops that estimated value. The best you can hope for is to slip in so they bid right up to that value then you place the first bid over that. The only reason I go to the auction house now is experience from examination mode. Levels of experience just waiting for you. Which is also why I do the Examine line first. About a minute for 50 experience is better than about 5 minutes for 4 experience changing 4 tires. That is my experience also, I don't think you can get out of the auction without paying at least a few grand over the "estimated" value. If you pay attention to the estimated value vs the purchase price in the barns, sometimes you can find a good deal. I have gotten some barn cars that were 5-7k under the estimated, but again it takes a lot of trips to find something you want. I turned off the travel cost in options...I have never paid money to walk into a junkyard, only for what I want to take....doesn't make sense to me....

Seems like the auction house really hasent changed much from CMS 2015, the version i have. The computer seems to raise the price for the sake of raising the price. A car with a starting price of 5k will easily go for 20k. And, sadly, thats the only way to get cars in CMS 2015.....

Hey no prob! I know a bit about AMC sadly. My picture here is actually from a AMC, the matador. Barcelona was a upgraded trim on it. And before I end one little info nugget...on the amc pacer ( the blue car from Wayne's world) the passenger door is two inches longer than the drivers door. Two door car and they did that with the hopes passengers getting into the back would do so on passenger side cause more room and so the driver wouldn't have to keep moving the seat. Love your channel by the way!
