factory says 280hp but it was an gentlemens agreement so a lot of japanese sportscars in the 90s have "280hp" the skyline actually has around 320-330 hp stock

As far as horsepower goes , think about it like my Chrysler 300c has a stock 340 horsepower engine . I put 6.1 heads cam and intake from an srt8 on my 5.7. Cold air intake full exhaust longtube headers and a tune boosted me up to 430 horsepower. A v6 and 4 banger takes built motor forced induction just to see big numbers .. no replacement for displacement

Probably trying to honor the Japanese logic of understating horsepower. The Skyline IRL was advertised as having only 276BHP, along with the RX7, Supra, Lancer Evo's, and other iconic Japanese sports cars. Reason being the Japanese automakers didn't want to start pointless "horsepower wars" and so agreed to understate their BHP numbers. But we all know from factory the Skyline makes 300+BHP.

52:02 ITs not done you forget the centerpieces for the exhaust its not connected to the backbox. Look for yourself 51:35 / 51:42 / 1:00:30 Xd So your gonna have to redo the dyno with a proper exhaust on it current figures are not correct. 55:40/ 56:05 and everything after that aswell XD

all RBs are fuel injected and using timing belts not chains, the RB26 that came in the r34 did how ever have independent throttle bodies stock they also have the intake and exhaust on the wrong side in this game

R34 GTR RB26 -Just some things i saw wrong -intake/exhaust wrong sides, carbie, distributor, timing chain, no power steer or AC, oil/fuel filter location, rear spring location/upper arms, single pot calipers front/rear, no HICAS, front shock/spring setup, castor rods, gtr sump/diff, gearbox length/transfer case/prop shaft, exhaust manifold/turbos (Gone NA), directional tyres wrong way. Top it off with a engine cover changing the intake/exhaust sides around & becomes injected twin turbo =D

Lol that R34 engin e in the game is soooo far off of what the actual R34's RB26DETT engine is. The RB has coil on plug, not distributor, it has fuel injectors not carburetors. And the exhaust and intake are on the wrong sides of the block in this moded engine.... I mean come on... they could at least try to make the engine in this mod close to what the R34 had in real life

Theirs theories floating around that Japanese sports car manufacturers made a deal to not flaunt about horsepower, always specifying something around 80 horsepower less than what the car has. This could also have something Japan’s horsepower tax relation. You produce anything that’s officially over 287HP, you the manufacturer receive a higher tax when selling the car to a dealer. Less profit for a dealer. This only applies to Japanese market cars. Anything sold overseas could be advertised with a greater horsepower. Please correct me on if I’m wrong

Its not a theory that they lied about it but the hp tax isnt why. All the japanese car companies had an agreement not to use hp as marketing but to use the design and other features to sell the car. Thats why the r32 had all wheel steering.
