@@driveway3159 I was watching some off-roading videos about groups in British Columbia, Can. There were mainly Jeeps and Tacos. And a few Land Rovers. The only failure- Land Rover (transmission). More expensive AND less reliable. You don't really need a transmission when you're 100 miles from anywhere, do you? I'd never buy a Land Rover product. But 63 grand is really getting up there.

I don‘t really get the „it’s just a Mercedes“ argument. They have the quality and experience in building cars and almost any other luxury car shares a plattform now. Like the Urus and Q8, Bentley, R8 and Huracan and so on

honestly i like the podcast but man they constantly and unashamedly expose their hypocrisy.... how can they bash the Mercedes GTBS when it is LITERALLY the same thing as the GT2rs in every single way. also sam is completely wrong about the price and then look, they use that unproven rumor to further bash the mercedes. the same guys that praise Porsche every time a new RS model comes out and a month before a customer even gets theirs the market is already 50% over list just cause thats the way Porsche works. the hypocrisy is incredible.

I love the old defender, even driving it, but I use it on a farm. I have a couple of moderns cars, a merc, ford ranger, but I love the old defender for its looks, ability and simplicity and even the drive.

I think that Sam is right, the GT Black Series will command big money, i bet its near $300,000 and by the time you put options its well over that mark. However, it has an all new flat plane crank engine which sounds amazing, its making 720HP, it has active aero which has never been on an AMG, its wider and has GT3 tech in it, it also has F1 tech with the dual spark pre-combustion jazz. You can apparently fully turn off traction control too, regardless if its fitted with all of the saftey stuff and the car is overall lighter. It sounds like a recipe for a badass car.

I’ve got an m240i and love it. Slightly quicker than an M2 in a straight line (not the M2 comp), still looks and sounds great. I would have to say the M2 does sound a lot meatier and look nicer and wider though

I could only dream of owning any car you have spoke about today but Even if I won the euro millions I would not entertain a 675 due to the horror stories all over the internet. Tony’s Rs6 that he has in stock is my kind of thing. Super car destroyers with a few tweaks! The AMG GT Black Series will be a much better car than the GT2RS in my opinion. All the bits on it are purposeful not fake so you can see it's going to do a job and properly. And ngl I wouldn't really say it's just a Mercedes as you could then turn around and say Porsche have said they have done all these bits to the 911 but at the end of the day it's the same car over and over with little things changed e.g. the lights or we've moved the brake light. GT3RS ... GT2RS they look the same apart from the wing at least with the AMG GT Black series it's got a different look over the GTR and GTR Pro and it's noticeable

A few things i want to say: 1- I love the Defender, it looks cool, looks like the DC100 Concept 2- AMG GT Black is £330k (Top Gear information), its 3 times the price of a new GT S, also £300k for a 765LT. 3- Mclaren have their faults, however, if we are talking over £300k for a car, it better have a mid engine (remember the Mclaren Mercedes SLR, same price has the Carrera GT, where are they now?). 4- S4/5 have a diesel.

It’s SL 65 Black Series and it has engine similar to Huayras engine but I think first Black Series was SLK 55 AMG with solid top and 400hp. It was actually F1 or DTM pace car. Before Black Series AMG made CL 63 (w215) Amg with 6.3l V12 with 444hp as limited series and S 63 (w221) with same engine. And they made CL 55 F1 Limited Edition

In the UK and Europe, the S6 is diesel, that is about to change to petrol for the SQ7 and SQ8 and it may change petrol in the S6 son but will surely be an upgraded 3.0 V6 (compared with standard A6). If it were petrol, I might consider and S6 but not diesel. (In the US the S6 is petrol) FYI, Audi S4 and S5's are also diesel in Europe, I'm sure sales are poor because of this.

The thing with the new Defender (I personally like the looks and it`s a very capable offroader) is that it`s not a real workhorse anymore for Overlanding and similar activities, The new can`t hold so much weight anymore, the choice of tires is not the one you would like to have somewhere in the outback when you need some new. It`s not body on frame and the durability will not be the same when you are permanent outdoor. Not to speak from repairing it or getting spare parts in far off regions.

JRL moved on and such a vehicle doesn't fit in their portfolio and all the old defender buyers went to Isusu's etc. Just not realistic for a premium brand to develop and build such a utilitarian vehicle for a price that people will actually pay. Ineos is nothing short of a sad fantasists lazy design that supposedly aims to be a sticks and stones kinda car but with their BMW engines and such will be not like the defender at all. Not even mentioning the absolute guarantee that servicing and repairing this thing will be difficult. I'd be surpised if they build over 50 of the damn things.

I'd agree with this, while I do think they could have done a better job in terms of keeping some of the original design cues, I DO think that there's no place for something like the Ineos, fact is, it doesn't look like a luxury vehicle and in order to succeed in that market place there does need to be a large element of luxury.

Alonso will be on the pace. Unlike schui he has been actively racing while away from formula one. I think the limited testing in f1 now hampered Michael. His work ethic was his biggest power. Like Sam said he was on the pace in 2012 but his wheel to wheel wasn’t the same as results of accidents in Spain Singapore etc. my question on the Aston and vettel link will the Aston Martin team be a works manufacturer backed team or just a sponsor name? I bought an S6 Avant new in preference over an RS6 (in 2017 so the C7 version when the S6 still had a good engine - the 4.0 V8). As a daily it just made more sense in almost every respect. However it is still hilariously fast if you want it to be. I paid £57,000 new (pretty much £20,000 off list after all the options I'd added). It was nearly half what the comparable RS6 would have been. The new S6 in Europe is now a diesel and 350hp. It now isn't anything close to the RS6 and has ended any interest I had in trading mine in for a new model. Audi now don't sell anything I would be interested in swapping my 2017 S6 for, so it's staying indefinitly.
