Gabe, thank you for your insight. I’ve been learning the automotive paint process on my own for about 5 years now, and absolutely NOTHING is as effective as watching someone do it start to finish. These videos are huge for me, and I’ve been advancing at an insane rate because of it. I thought we got our first Frozen Finish but it turned out to be a matte wrap over B39. For Colorsystem (BMW paint) if you get a Frozen in the shop your suppose to call your rep so they can help you out. You suppose to be certified also which is a couple of days in North Jersey( where they shot Sopranos) at the crazy BMW facility.

Learned a bunch my friend! I'm reviewing a bunch of your vids again for a project tomorrow shooting a base and flat clear. One of the things the reps said was walk the car when shooting flat or matte clear. Any build up where multiple coats or passes meet will make shinier spots so by walking the panel, supposedly it eliminates that. That said, I don't see you doing that and your work looks fantastic so, yeah. Also, they're recommending a control or drop coat on the last coat of clear which I find odd. I'm used to control/drop coats for metallic bases but for clear?

Have had to do this exact technique once as well to "adjust" gloss. Gabe, you need to come clean why you stopped using stat gun. Last time you said it was summer and not needed, now we're in winter. I know some of us, myself included spent nearly a grand based on your testimonial of product. I am sure you get lots of demos and pressure from companies but we always expect your honest opinion to us fellow techs first and foremost. Thanks

What happens if you have visible dirt marks anyway to remove them other then re clearing the car? In this case you had to polish to bring up the shine level, could you have lightly wet sanded a dust spot and polished over the paint?

Use the gun that fits you the best maybe the gun you are using nowe is not the tip size for the job can you tell me what gun and tip size you are using nowe for the moment I go for a devilbiss dv 1 1.2 or a Sagola extreme 4600 1.2 Sand pile is not normal for sikkens Thanks for an ander Kind regards Paul
