I had the very same issue years ago on an 08 Jeep Liberty. I used black electrical tape to patch the tube/hose and works fine since. Never replaced the tube !

Bill, thank you so much. I have the same identical problem with my 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport. You showed me how to disconnect the evap lines and how to get get that broken fitting that broke off from the line at the exact same spot as you. Replaced the purge valve awaiting for new line. It’s called the emission control vacuum harness which is a fancy way of saying emission line that has quick connects at each end. Mopar part # 52125201AG. Again, thank you so much because I don’t have much hair to pull out at this age. Ed.

Dealership prices are insane! I bought that tube for $8 dollars (new) on line of course and it took about 5 mins to replace

Okay, this video just saved so much future time lol It also showed me I wasted two weeks of asking and looking for parts for my 2009 Liberty. I have even asked so-called Jeep experts and nothing. If you ever hear a sound from the rear what is referred to as a screaming sparrow, it's the u-joint in the rear drive shaft. Guess what though. The 2008 - 2012 models you have to replace the entire rear shaft. All the earlier years you could just replace the u-joint. A $20 fix. Not our models, new $700ish. Seriously Thanks for making this lol Now I know

This can also cause vacuum leaks that effect pcv valves which in turn can and will create pcv valve breathing tubes to suck oil out from the tops of the valve covers that suck the oil into the pcv valve system flows right back into your intake manifold which sucks oil into pistons burning mixing with your fuel consumption firing piston compressions are changed piston rings go bad quicker and it runs like crap and spews white smoke and drips a bit of oil out the tail pipe that is more refined watered down due to burning off its viscosity minerals bouncing off hot metal surfaces all the way through your engine itll also cause spark plug ignition system problems fuel injectors to get that black build up soot crap and on your lifters and throughout the valve train and usually all stems from this diagnosis which all comes from culprit being bad PCV valve

Mine had the same crack. Changed it and the purge solenoid today. Did it cure you check engine light/p0456 code?. I also put a battery switch so if it continutes to throw the code about once per week I can just switch the battery off then back on to clear it. Thanks!
