@@dylaanowen law happens after suspect is comprehended. In this situation what happened is justice. My life and/or my property is always more important than any life of a criminal. Why do you think criminals have different rights (for example they can be locked up)? When entering into a criminal act one looses a lot of rights. Including the right to live.
@dylaanowen2 жыл бұрын
@@PovilasPanavas If your life is actually in danger then sef defense is fine but even then you should not seek to kill unless truely necessary. If caught deliberately trying to kill someone when you didn't need to during self defence is still murder. Nothing I have seen has any indication that the car owner was attacked in anyway or that any weapons were used to threaten the car owner. If someone asks you for you car keys you either hand them over and call the police or you bring out your weapon and threaten the suspect and only shoot upon any retaliation. But the online article only states that the man pulled out his gun shot the man 2-3 times. As for property part, well, you need to visit a mental hospital. Your car is not more valuable than someones life. If you think that you should be ashamed of yourself. You lose your rights upon a free and fair trail. Not before. And even then, you only lose so many rights that are subject to the courts' decisions. One of the rights you don't lose is your right to life. Even in prison it is the duty of those who work there to ensure you safety as much as possible. You literally just completely made up the losing your right to live. You only lose your right to live upon receiving the death penalty. Even if the victim has the right to use deadly force that does not mean the suspect doesn't have the right to live. They still have the right to medical care and the victim doesn't have the right to "finish the job" if the suspect is incapacitated but still alive. This man attempted to steal a car, got shot and died. That is a tragedy. This could have been handled in a way that both the car was returned and both parties remained alive very easily. But since the US is such a backwards country people misuse their right to own and carry firearms.

If the carjacker didn't want to get shot, he shouldn't t have tried to steal the car. Period. Now if this was, say a dipute between two people and the gun holder got involved, that would be different. Then you leave that to the law especially if it doesn't involve them (but again, unless your safety is threatened). In this instance, I think the shooter will walk away with only a "note" on his record (saying he was involved in a theft that resulted in a shooting and the carjacker dying). Luckily the carjacker fled the scene and died later, and didn't die directly instantly the gunshot. T hat may play out a little different then.
