I can't say the thief got his just due at all. He got ran into by a bike. Effectively pushed over and yelled at. And had to walk across the street to get his shoe. Just due would be his bike getting thrown into a garbage truck and/or punched in the face for a quick nap. If the dude whose bike it was didn't do what he did the thief gets away with a bike. He was confronted and just got pushed and yelled at. Feels like that theft was low risk. Maybe i just have a weird take on theft. Like that guy who stole the bike isn't going to take a lesson from that and never steal again, he's still the same shitty person with the same shitty ideals that would encourage him to take someone elses things. There needs to be complete immunity for anyone that stops a crime in progress and no crime should be considered “petty”. Watch how quickly crime rate drops. @jaykoerner2 жыл бұрын
"Complete immunity" so by what you're saying if a "hero" in a attempt to stop the criminal hurts or kills a bystander it's fine, hell let's they don't even directly hurt someone else say the dude was trying to drive away and you attempt block him in hitting his car and it goes to sideswipe someone else ... My bad well I stopped the dude that stole something only worth money, so all's good. Sorry your cars damaged and your hurt, but I saved Walmart some money, No the da already doesn't charge people for reasonable actions or even perceivably reasonable actions, giving people blanket statement to be vigilantes is not a good idea
@RikuSpirit2 жыл бұрын
@@jaykoerner No. You misunderstood, I get what you are saying about how it potentially opens the door to recklessness or escalation and that is absolutely not what I was referring to. There are people that walk into a store and steal and the employees are supposed to just stand there. The reasoning is that it can become a liability issue and the store has theft insurance. Some might say this is fine except it isn't because then consumers have to pay higher prices to make up for the loss. Also in cities where theft happens too frequently, stores simply close their doors and the community has to travel much farther just to buy basic goods. Keep in mind that not everyone drives and the elderly usually have mobility issues. Look it up here on KZbin, some stores have had to close in cities where theft became too big of a problem. When a thief steals from you, they are not just taking an item. If you work for what you have, you get up early, drive yourself to work, do whatever it is you do at work, come home and repeat, meanwhile you may be sacrificing time with your family to put food on the table. Think about everything that goes into earning money in your pocket and some lazy piece of shit is taking all that from you. If you are OK supporting some lazy piece of shit then feel free to give away your stuff to them. It is people with your weak mindset that allow crime to thrive and it is people with my mindset that hold the line so that civilization remains civil.

@@pgWave. In America people steal big screen TVs and Playstations "for their families". I say cut their hands or more off. No lost tears from me.

I was hoping for the owner to take the thief's bike and beat him with it, at least a few times. A bike is a fairly effective weapon.

How the hell is an “asset protection worker” supposed to do their job if they can’t physically confront thieves? Ask nicely for them to return the stolen product and let them leave if they don’t?
@JM19939512 жыл бұрын
Basically. I used to follow thieves around, even went after a few when they left. Now I just make a security call in the intercom to scare the newbie thieves. That’s enough to get rid of most, but the ones who know I can’t do anything are gonna take what they want. And I don’t do shit. I’m not risking my safety when my employer won’t have my back if I get hurt.
