Car Vlog #5: K&N Short Ram Intake on 2022 Corolla!

What's up everyone, welcome to the channel whether you're a returning view or a new viewer! I apologize for my terrible upload but I do this for fun so scheduled uploads isn't exactly expected but regardless, this is, like the title states, a K&N Short Ram Typhoon Intake on my 2022 Corolla SE Nightshade. Please also know that I have a Borla Catback Exhaust System installed so the sounds in this video won't be the same if you have no exhaust work. Hey thanks for the shout out. One thing to do if you haven't already is to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it so the ECU can adjust to the new intake/exhaust setup. It should help it run better. I also had the same issue with the PCV fitting not screwing in all the way compared to the picture on the K&N instructions. It's fine. It's a pipe thread so it just needs to screw in enough to seal. The K&N only really make a lot more noise when you push it. Anything above 3000RPM and the car sings as you probably noticed. It's also nice to drive chill and not have the car drone or otherwise be too loud. I'm not planning on tuning the current setup. It's just a daily driver so I'd rather keep running 87 octane to keep running costs lower. Couldn't care less about more power. K&N claims what, 8HP? That and the Borla maybe gives you 10 more horsepower. But what you really get is a better driving experience more than anything else. The car is so much more fun to drive when you can hear the engine and damn she sounds good now! K&N/Borla is a good combo. Love rowing gears. Downshifts sound so good now.

Nice setup! I have a 2020 Corolla se same color. I installed my K&N short ram intake back in October 2023. Just followed the instructions. No CEL till this day. Sounds beautiful when the engine is warmed up. If your looking to get a K&N intake, i highly recommend it. Sounds nice with borla exhaust

Good looking out! Thank you. Also last question, I’m about to invest in the same BORLA catback. Do you have a CVT or manual? I’m hoping it will still sound good with an automatic CVT Corolla. Thanks again 🤙🏼

@@tylercass3064 It's CVT. But whether or not it's manual or CVT, the transmission would not chanhe the sound as it's the same engine in both cars.

its not a cold air intake. thats a ram air. cold air is routed away from the engine bay to actually get colder air. i put that same one on my 22 corolla see 6 speed manual and it definitely had a noticeable different in low end torque
