It is amazing how much you know about fixing the wrist, hand and fingers. I'm sure not all chiropractors know how to do that. That's because I very rarely see other chiropractors fix hands on KZbin, and none as thoroughly as you. I am guessing about all Gonstead Chiropractors know these techniques, but do you think other chiropractors also know these in general?

Most chiropractors are taught these adjustments and assessment techniques, (I can speak from my own experience) its just a matter of whether or not they use them.

they probably don't show videos like those.

Yes and no. There are two well known extremities instructors in the profession that many chiropractors learn from, it's either from Dr. Mitch Mally or Dr. Charrette. I'm not familiar with Dr Mally's work, but I took Charrette's work in school. It's not specific and too general. Some schools also have their own flair on adjusting extremities which have generalized extremities program which I also find not to be specific. Most Gonstead Chiropractors learned from Dr. Mark Werking who's a Gonstead Chiropractor and he wrote the book on it. 2/3 of the extremity you've seen on my videos are based on Dr. Werking, the other 1/3 is built on top of Dr. Werking's knowledge and I expanded it such as correcting finger tips as you see on this video or pisiform reinforced superior navicular misalignment in the foot. You'll see a lot of Dr. Werking's foot protocol in Dr. Rahim's videos. I don't use the special thick extremities speeder board because I find correcting by hand to be more effective rather than using the speeder board (thick padding where Dr Rahim pushes the foot into the board and it makes a noise)

Thank you doctor to show this video. I got the same problem like him. I saw many doctors still not help. I tried pill, physical therapy, acupuncture for almost year now. I will consider Chiropractic now.

Hi doc, I hope you'll notice can I get hand adjustment even my xray is normal? Im experiencing hand pain and the doctor says carpal tunnel but the pain is also in little finger, and the second opinion from another doctor says that I dont have carpal tunnel syndrome Is it possible to get hand adjustment?

Doctors look for serious pathologies on the X-ray, but many are not trained in biomechanical analysis of Xray’s. Even a slight 1mm misalignment may cause issues. Make an appointment and let’s see what’s going on with your hand. www.gonsteadnyc.com or 212.486.9800

What's better physiotherapy or chiropractic.

Depends on what the end goal is. Let's say there's an atrophied muscle, bad enough that you can see the bones. Chiropractic, our focus is to restore nerve function. We'll locate the problem and correct the structure to reduce the nerve function as much as possible barring any serious complications such as fractured bones or nerve lesions. That will help regain muscle function. However, if that muscle has been atrophied for a long time past of point of no return, we can try to restore the nerve function all we want but that muscle needs to be rehabilitated. That's where physical therapy comes into play. Their purpose is to restore musculoskeletal function as much as possible. On the flip side of the coin, a physical therapist can try to rehab that atrophied muscle as much as they want but if there's insufficient nerve function, there's no way that muscle to regain it's strength. Or going back to the worse case scenario... vertebra is fractured where the fragment is pinching on the nerve. Refer to an orthopedic surgeon to correct the problem. Or perhaps there is a toxic element that damaged the nerve that requires a naturopath to detox the offending chemical out such as lead poisoning, etc. So the way I see it, it's a team collaborative effort. Address the root cause first using the ideal health provider then refer to the next health provider and to the next and to the next and next until the patient has gain optimal/maximum function.

Depends on what the root problem is. If it's musculoskeletal, PT, if it's neurostructural, chiropractic.

Hello Dr I would be greatly appreciated if you can do a video on sacrum dysfunction and how you would correct different misalignment of sacrum while the patient is either lying face down or side lying preferably. (e.g foward torsion, backward torsion, unilateral flexion and extension etc.) Just like how you did with pelvic analysis. Thank you and love all your videos Biggest fan

this would be great (iliosacral dysfunctions); plus wrist/finger dysfunctions and how you would set them
