Having a previous owner install a 56-57 12V solenoid in the 6V '55 T-Bird still reigns as one of my most frustrating chasing of a no-start condition, since it would work when the 6V battery was totally charged. If the first crank didn't start, it often wouldn't crank again without a battery boost. Never occurred to me that new part was the wrong part number, since it looked 100-percent correct and came with a recent receipt.
