Car wont start / run : alternator or battery? (Nissan 370z)

If youre having the issue that your car does not want to start or it turns off while driving, here’s a simple way of testing and replacing the alternator or a car. In the particular video I am replacing the alternator of a Nissan 370Z 2011.

For future reference, you do not need to remove the fans, nor the tensioner for clearance. All of this can be removed from underneath the car.

so i just bought a 2015 370 nismo, drove it home from PA to NH and it was fine the entire time 3 days later i go to the gym and it starts but the dash board is all black odometers black gauges black needles not moving. and it works i get to the gym leave im almost home then the gas just doesn't work. but the car doesn't shut off? but then when i manually shut it off it wouldn't start without a jump. got a new battery turned right on but same issue, dash black gauges black won't turn on. was able to drive it all day then gas gave out again by the end of the night. i'm thinking it just needs a new alternator??? i dont know tho

@brgrbuilds that purple wire on the alternator mine snapped all I can find online are black red and green I cannot find a purple to splice back in is there a alternative ?
