In this video you will see how I planted my Cara Cara Orange tree. It will eventually be trained to grow as an espaliered tree. It has an abundant amount of buds that are nearly ready to bloom.

Beautiful Dwarf Tree. I have a similar one that is the Moro Blood Orange on Dwarf root stock. I picked all the fruit off the tree the 1st year so it could focus it's grown on foliage & roots. This year it has tons of flowers & a lot are developing into fruit. I will probably thin it out so the branches don't break from the excess weight. Keep them videos coming.

That is a good practice, especially for young trees. I have a satsuma mandarin that I should have done that to. I planted it in the ground after a bumper crop and it didn’t do well. I should have thinned it out, but it is recovering. I’m almost ready to post a 2 part Spring tour video series. I’ll be talking about the Satsuma in part 2 of the video series. Thank you for watching and best of luck with your citrus tree.

they're nice looking trees but you'll need to spread them further out eventually....too crowded imo...have fun gardening!

I don’t have enough space to grow all the trees I like so I’m utilizing high density planting technique. Trees grown in this manner will require regular pruning in order to control growth. It is somewhat crowded, but from research I’ve done, it should work fine. Thanks for visiting!

Persimmon Trees are very Large. I have 1 in a pot, but it needs to be in the ground. Keeps dropping blossoms as did the mangos. HAPPY gardening.

I had a persimmon in a 15 gal container fruit. It was not a large crop, but the persimmons were good size with excellent flavor. You are right, it would be best to put it in the ground, but if space is an issue, a larger container might help. Please check out one of my previously uploaded videos titled “Persimmon Jiro Fuyu variety ready for harvest growing in a container” Thank you for visiting and happy gardening!

please tell me the Cara-Cara citrus tree has thorns? best regards Javid Valiyev
@Zone10aBackyardOrchard Жыл бұрын
Yes, the Cara Care does have thorns, but they are not very big. It’s not difficult to prune or pick fruit off of like it is with other citrus trees with larger thorns. Thanks for visiting!

Does the Carara Cara usually have thorns?
@Zone10aBackyardOrchard Жыл бұрын
I have not seen a thorn-less Cara Cara orange tree. Mine has thorns, but they are not problematic. Thanks for watching!
