OpraClips, thanks for posting this great performance. "Cara sposa" is one of the greatest arias ever written and Sara Mingardo´s is the best version along with that of David Daniels. Regrettably, it´s not recorded on CD.

Ferrier? Mingardo est nettement au dessus! Y compris dans son interprétation des Kindertotenlieder, de Mahler.... Il faut dire aussi, qu'à l'époque de Ferrier, la technique vocale était bien différente.... Les enregistrements aussi, de fait mais.... Mingardo.... Quelle grande voix!!!!

A teensy weensy itty bitty too much vibrato. I work my tail off to loose that vibrato, and she puts in in AND gets away with it.

The problem could be the quality or beauty of your voice. Think of Lorengar and Tomova-Sintow Lots of vibrato with gorgeous tone. Thnk of the titanic Frida Leider. Hope this helps.
