Excellent product we own a Caravan & 30ft river cruiser this CaraBoat makes more sense to me & the 2 engines are great. We had our twin engine boat up the Murray and one of the motors unexpectedly did a head gasket so we safely limped home on the other and make handling better.

Australia has some incredible outdoor campers... this is actually a brilliant idea, compared to amphibious RV bus..
@bobg16858 жыл бұрын
This is one if the nicer camper-type boats I've seen. Those of you that are critical appear to be critical for the sake of the internet. The stowaway control panel is innovative and placed at a fairly good position on the boat. The head is nice. The galley looks nice. The furnishings are good, as is forward and rear access. I do agree that two engines one such a smallish boat might be overly aggressive, and that a single good-quality outboard might do. It would certainly be economical to run/maintain and allow an initial purchase savings, maybe also giving a better rear dock access. It would be cool to have access to a reinforced upper platform to sunbathe or maybe fish from. Nice boat. I just lament that cool boats like this are not more popular (and marketed) here in the States.

In the mid 1970s I worked for a builder in UK. We were converting the Caraboat factory at Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire into one making "Carburol" oil products after the UK Caraboat company went out of business. So this isn't a new idea but a re-invention.

I've owned 3 boats over a 14 year period and never had any major problems. The problem with many boat owners is that they don't perform the scheduled maintenance they should and run them for years without oil changes, gear oil changes, impeller replacement etc. Like anything, it you take care of it, it will last. I spend every weekend on the lake and I wouldn't trade it for anything

i'm curious.. there seem to be no side access for entry and exit from a dock when you might need to use a dock for any number of reasons. Perhaps you can address this issue. Not always will one be accessing fuel and supplies from on land or at a shallow sandy beach. I have not seen video or pictures of anyone at the helm. There seems to be no seating for that purpose.Can you speak to this issue as well. Please don't get me wrong, i think this is a great design, however these 2 issues could lead me to choose something different.
@robshenn84027 жыл бұрын
Hi, behind the stern sliding door but in front of the outboards, there is a step on each side for jetty access, we find it easier to pass the groceries through the large drop down galley window, bags can be placed directly on the benchtop. The helm is shown just after the 2 minute mark on the video, as its in the galley area, we use a folding stool which is taken out of the way when not required. If you have any further specific questions, please contact us via the website as we do not always check KZbin, lots of pics from owners on or Facebook page too if you wish to have a look. Regards, Rob.

Surely we can manufacture those at half the current cost within Australia? If not, what about manufacturing them in New Zealand and shipping them worldwide from there? They have a good boat building industry and wages are lower. It seems such a shame to send such a good idea to the EU in order to make it at a realistic price.

Very good idea for lovers of water recreation. But use it of using trailer and car vehicle for transportation means limitation of mobility. An even better idea would be combination of motorcamper and houseboat functionality: it would be a hybrid vehicle - with 4 wheels retractable like an airplane chassis, and a watertight bottom in the form of catamaran or trimaran. Then its owner could be traveling both along roads, and along rivers, lakes or even coastal shipping on the seas... Technically, this seems to me quite feasible for acceptable payment...

@robshenn61256 жыл бұрын
Hi Gregory, the CaraBoat launches off the trailer like any trailer boat, the wheel arches are recessed into the hull to keep the overall trailer height down. This saves on windage when towing in caravan mode, it sits no higher than an off road van.
