I've got a focus LX 1.8 tdci mk2 2006. It's only a work runner it hasn't failed too start once. It's only gone in the garage for the yearly service plus wear and tear. Getting this mk3 next year looks lovely inside and out. 👍🏻

Does 1.6 tdci engine gives enough revs (power) for start, without gas? And what about manual transmission effectiveness- heard of some transmission problems, not sure if they reffer only to automatic models...

Interesting... The 2014 Focus Titanium I just bought here in the States came standard with the MyFordTouch touch-screen system (navigation was a $795 optional SD-card). Looks like the Aussie version doesn't have the MyFordTouch touch-screen as standard? Given the exchange-rate between US Dollars and Australian Dollars (1 USD = 1.12 AUD as of today, 4-Feb-2014) that should make the $27,500 manufacturer's suggested retail price that was on my window-sticker equal about $30,800 in AUD. So why the 40,000 AUD price-tag in this video? Lord knows I wouldn't pay $40K for this car -- especially without the nav-system! I could buy a *really* nice BMW 3-series for that kind of money. Why is it so much more expensive than it should be?

@@nickayres5780 Nope, no issues, just make sure that you drive it correctly (treat it like a manual) and I get it serviced every 60,000kms. And be aware that if you get one with a petrol engine you are on your own as they use the dry clutch transmission. Only the diesel focus's and the larger cars like the Mondeo have the wet clutch transmissions which are more reliable.

Leaky bearing seals, and failing transmission control modules. 100,'s of videos on KZbin about badly engineered "Powershift" Transmission. The engine and the rest of the car are great but the Worldwide issue with the Transmission has served to depreciate the car enormously. Good luck at trade in time. Ford Australia were recently found guilty of unconscionable conduct to customers under Australian consumer law and were fined 10 million dollars in court by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission , there is also a very large class action being made against Ford Australia by owners of Focus and Fiesta models fitted with this Infamous transmission and the months and years of being fobbed off by Ford service departments, not to mention all the angst and expense that customers had to endure after being sold these cars.

dont buy ford focus.. I own 2012 focus and it it nightmare... the transmission is shit as hell.. car vibrates whenver start off. back seats are too small.. resale value is shit... get civic, corolla, mazda3, jettta, elantra, etc... dont buy 1. dodge dart 2. ford focus 3. mitsubishi lancer. I am done with this garbage shit. I am going to get Subaru Brz or Nissan Maxima or Honda Accord.
