i think it's worth it to mention that the dragon's first two attacks, the fireball and the swipe along the ground, were distancing attacks. that dragon did NOT want Stark anywhere near him.

Stark is a very realistic hero. Low self esteem, but actually capable. Thinks he's likely to fail, but tries anyway. Grower not a shower is an appropriate metaphor.

It's really crazy how strong Stark turned out to be. Like his very first experience with fighting monsters was a dragon. Who he soloed! And not only did he kill it all on his own, he did so within 30 seconds! And not only did he do that within 30 seconds, he also had the leeway to keep track of time throughout the entire fight

I love it soooooo hard when "fear brought me this far" hits :D. Maybe he think he need to bluff but .. we know it better xD. the Voice actor of eisen is so good, you hear the fear in the voice. Madhouse animate the shit out of the subtle things., just awesome. /edit: Stark's teacher, Eisen, is unimaginably strong. How strong? He got hit by a dragon's tail and was launched an incredible distance and when he hit the ground it left a crater. He was completely unharmed. Eisen's only reaction was basically "Dragons are pretty strong". And Eisen finds Stark's strength the be terrifying.

I find it so cool how both Eisen and Frieren, the two old school masters, "threw their students to the wolves" and watched them fend for themselves. They did it because they knew that all of their training wouldn't betray them and that they had to get cornered and be forced to fight on their own. A master (or parent) can't protect their ward forever, a smothering overprotective love does more damage in the end. In nature, some birds throw their baby chicks out of the nest to teach them to fly.

This show is always so chill and cozy, but when a fight starts, animation kicks up so strong. Seriously, Frieren has one of the best animated fight scenes, even if they are short and sparse throughout the show

@@Siennamerdein we don't know because it was purposely hidden from Frieren. It is believed he fought the full 7+1, and he killed several of them before dying. What we do know is he and the ones that he is believed to have killed haven't been seen since their battle, and that he personally believed he wouldn't survive the fight even if he had Frieren with him for it. (I wonder if he also asked Serie or Kraft)
