Fun fact: The person doing the voice for the doctor is the same guy that does the voice for the narrator of the story. Also if you pay attention to the moment where Shirogane grabbed Shinomiya by the shoulders to asked her if there was something else wrong with her if her heart wasn't the problem, the next scene is a fish on the water. That fish is specifically a koi fish. Which is significant because "koi" in japanese sounds like one of the japanese words for "love". Basically the scene with the fish was used to show that the "something else" was that she was in love. Which is pretty clever and funny at the same time.

Just FYI, tsundere isn’t specific to girls, or necessarily romance. It just refers to someone who is prickly or gruff on the outside but is actually sweet and sensitive inside, specifically to the people they care about. Male examples might be Vegeta from Dragon Ball, Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist, or in modern terms I’m told Bakugo is considered tsundere, (haven’t seen MHA) and even in a lot of ways Miyuki is a tsundere because he’s so aloof about Kaguya outwardly, but inside he adores her and gets very emotional about her. Again, just a heads up; loving the reaction and how much you’re enjoying this and Hunter x Hunter! (Also lowkey Killua’s kind of a tsundere too.)

In the most basic terms, a tsundere is any character (regardless of gender) who runs "hot and cold." Usually they are outwardly cold/spicy, and certain triggers need to happen for their softer, sweeter side to show. Sometimes that sweet - dere - side only comes out for a few special people.

doctor was remembering his highschool sweetheart wife and thats why he said its love is still going strong. he's the family doctor and is the best cardiologist. her mom was his patient. the prayer at the end to kaguya's mother is because he remembers how distant and cold kaguya was when she lost her mom. seeing her today he saw how much she has grown and her whole vibrant demeanor around her first love. it was just a prayer of assurance that her daughter is doing well.

Not sure if its true, but I've heard that the story was suppose to be serious and dramatic, but the higher ups insisted that it be a comedy. and Akasaka being the writing genius he is, took chocolate and peanut butter and made it all work. FYI Oshi no ko, is his follow up work and is in the same universe as Kaguya. that manga is wrapping up. Season 1 of the anime for it came out last year and season 2 starts sometime this year. If you decide to watch that. Warning: go in as blind as possible for 1st episode for max enjoyment.

We gonna know more about Nayotake(Kaguya mother) when we get into the End-Game arc, but before we even get there, it's gonna be such an long emotional rollercoaster

He wasn't in love with her mom that was his own wife in the flashback. There is more info on both later in the manga so it's not immediately clear in the anime. Her mum was also his patient so he knows Kaguya and the family situation quite well, Nayotake was a patient he lost so when her daughter comes in with possible heart issues he wants to help her, I guess in a way to make it up to her by saving her daughter. He's quite happy to see Kaguya is living a fun life and falling in love after her rough upbringing and losing her mother at a young age. He's reflecting at the end and telling her mother that her daughter is doing great. It's a really beautiful scene but the context gets a bit lost in translation.

I've never read the manga or watched this but if her mother did have a heart condition and the Dr was in love with her, using anime logic that's the reason he's the best in his field. He did it for her.

@@raburesu2702 can't possibly be. timeline doesn't fit. in the manga it was said that he got his gf pregnant at the age of 17. this flashback shows him and the girl in highschool uniform so yeah, can't possibly be kaguya mother. not to mention that her mother is far younger than him and kaguya's father.

The doctor was not in love with Kaguya's mom. That flashback to the beach (which is anime original and thus has no bearing on the story) is of the doctor and his wife. You can tell it's not Kaguya's mom because the two women have completely different hair colors. While he was talking to her mom at the very end, he was never in love with her.

he was tho, as it was representative in the manga, then added scenes to the anime which further solidified it. he was with her during sunset and now he's alone under the moonlit evening. it's not explicit but it was heavily implied. he deeply cared for kaguya despite her being a stoic cold patient over the years akin to a guardian. AND, Nayotake (kaguya's mom) in japanese is night/evening. plus any dark hair turns into brown as the sunset colors the world close to its likeness. just because it's not explicit, doesn't mean it's not true. context clues matter people

@@eggsalad44 He cares for Kaguya because he's been her family's doctor longer than she's been alive. As far as the manga is concerned, he didn't even meet Nayotake until she she got together with Kaguya's father.
