INCREDIBLE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! stayed up till 2am replaying it over & over . . . Nothing like it anywhere ! Rich, sonorous, mind-bending, so so SO professional, so tight no one left behind. I CAN'T believe how addictive this performance is for me -- I come from a 19th century classical background, like early jazz & big band swing but never could get into bebop or anything atonal. Here I know the song Caravan well, so I never lose the lyrical thread -- even with the crazy graphics. But how these musicians play to each other, how they DO this -- goosebumps all the way. THANK YOU.

Beautiful, just sublime. Now, this is music! Harks back to a time when there was both style and substance. I don't mean to go off on some tangent, but I remember when people dressed up, went out and had a nice time. There was just this sense of decorum and people would excitedly discuss the concert, the performers, the music at whatever venue they'd been to. Now it's all handhelds and electronic streaming and downloads. A change, for sure.

Playing Caravan on my Alto Sax - boy you are taking this to a new level, love it, love it !!!. Not sure who the drummer is but the solo (approx. 5min into the melody) is a stroke of bliss... You have been added to my favourite folder...

That sums up jazz for me. Take a nice tune and then do your best to fuck it up. Guess I just dont get it.

no but seriously what part of it is so fucked up that it has become the summation of jazz for you?

Composed by just Juan Tizol- Ellington did not contribute to this composition, albeit Tizol was a member of the orchestra when he wrote it and it was originally played by the Ellington's orchestra. He also wrote, Perdido, Sanzibar and many others. Perhaps after Ellington, the most important member of the ansemble, transcribed arrangements for all instruments on individual sheets, played with ellington for 15 years,
