I worked in a pharmacy close to a traveller's site for many years. There was so much prejudice and many objections to the site. I've never experienced a more friendly community , the most appreciative customers we had. They were always so grateful for everything that we'd do for them. It made me sad to see they were surprised to be accepted. Keep spreading your word girls and educate people to accept people at face value x
@loulou13563 жыл бұрын
So happy to see people are finally taking note of this antizyganism bullshit. I grew up with travellers around me both Irish and romany, one of the Irish traveller families took me in when my parents didn't care and are honestly the most hard working, clean, respectful people I've met and once you're classed as one of their own you are family forever. I have so much love for this community it's so nice to see it being represented properly💛

Absolutely love you two ❤️ although I just want to add that we do have our own ‘language’ if you will. It’s called Gamon or Can’t. It was made up by the traveling community using a mix of different Irish words and twisting them backwards, therefore settled people couldn’t understand what they were saying, which was the purpose of creating the language. Just goes to show that travellers weren’t as stupid as they made us out to be. Love how your spreading awareness throughout the community ❤️

It is already being changed with mavericks like these 2. Social media has a lot of faults, but it also has its pro's and is helping to bring more education on ethnic minorities and helping to stop bias by helping others understand that we are all different flavours of the same ice cream - different, but all human beings who share the same thoughts, fears, feelings and love as each other. We just express ourselves differently. But without the masks and traditions we are all the same. One love!! 🎭💗

Just seen you guys on This Morning. You were wonderful. My 3 sons mum is a traveller. Slightly different style like. More like a hippy traveller. English traveller, even though she can get an Irish passport. I've stayed on the site a few times and alway enjoyed it. I hate the way you've been turned away from places just because of your way of life. That's pure discrimination. Hopefully this channel will get through to some of the ignorance out there. I don't go on TikTok though. Good luck ladies. I'll make sure to watch all your videos and recommend it to others. Take care.

Have to say, well done. Keep up the good work. My experience with travelers hasn't always been great and unfortunately, the reputation is due to the very anti social behavior of many, however, you 2 certainly shouldn't be tarred with the same brush and also, you do not have the same accent as many travelers have! If you can change the habits of those that cause the trouble the traveler reputation will change. Keep doing what you're doing.

I don’t know if this is a silly question but how do you fit all your belongings in a caravan (if you live in one)? I could barely fit my stuff in a large flat so I can’t imagine trying to condense all of my stuff into a much smaller space especially sharing it with a partner and/or family 🙈 P.s I think it’s amazing that you’re both doing this! I lived next door to family of travellers for around 10 years. They were loud (semi detached house) but there were 10 kids, 9 were boys. Any family of 12 would have been loud. I was always treated with utmost respect by them. Every neighbour I had after they left were way more trouble. But my feeling is you girls attending college etc are the exception to the rule compared to those in my area.

This is fantastic, and well done girls for the work you are doing. I'm not a traveller but I have been saying for so long now that you just can't paint everyone with the same brush. It's so lazy, bigoted and downright ugly. You take a look right now at what is happening in Finglas or Drogheda with the drug gangs. The vast majority of those lads are not travellers. If we were to reverse the logic so many have towards travellers, you would quickly start believing that every non-traveller is caught up in drug gangs. Of course we all know that's not true, so why are we so slow to accept that there are some lovely and wonderful travellers who are not out to cause problems? Surely this isn't a difficult hurdle to overcome?

@kieranlock30703 жыл бұрын
There are many different groups of us. A lot of our younger generation don't like the word Gypsy for a start, as it's a term given to us by settled folks to degrade us. Our people,often referred to as GRT(gypsies, romani and travellers)are varied and it's always polite to ask what we prefer, for example I'm Kaulo Romani(welsh romani) but there is English romani as well, our people came from beyond india and then crossed into Istanbul, we were then conscripted in huge parts to the Ottoman empire, and basically fled from there all over the world which led to different diaspora.Pavee or Minceir (irish travellers) who are descendants of bronze age nomads from the british isles and remained a secular society. Roma are often eastern european, but there is Manush( french diaspora) or Kaulo (spannish diaspora) the Dom people. Many different types, all with roots in the same languages and customs, but all quite different as well. I speak Romanes but my dialect would be difficult for a Manush or Pavee to understand if they did at all, the same way Pavee speak Cant for example. We worship different religions, and a lot of us roam around certain parts of different countries for work, it became a way of life after suffering through slavery, roughly three pogroms, and before then we were nomads and our history and culture revolves around that.

Hi Queens, first, you look amazing and I am really excited to watch these myth-busting videos. Here is one thing I really struggle with: I've seen quite a bit of neglected animals (looking starved) on traveller's compounds and I know at least some travellers who train their dogs to hunt rabbits (they even ask on Facebook for people who want to get rid of their pet bunnies). I love all animals so I find that absolutely horrible. I'm not sure what my question is, maybe whether you think there is a movement away from animal cruelty of this kind?
