I was 15 when I was told my mom was raped by her cousin which resulted in me. For years I watched my mom struggled with mental health. She attempted suicide so many times. This one time they sent her away for nearly a year. Sitting at a cafe with my grandma and aunt I begged them to please take me. I didn't want to live with my dad (very abu$ive) what was said next changed the rest of my life. My aunt said don't worry you won't have to he isn't your real dad. My grandma went on to explain that my mom was raped by her cousin. I'm nearly 50 they didn't believe in abortion and adoption wasn't an option. My mom continued to struggle with mental health. My family was horrible to her and me. When she would get placed in the hospital they would tell me it's all my fault. All I could think is how horrible life was for my mom. I couldn't imagine looking at this child every single day. My mom never once spoke about it after she found out I was told. We were very close. I loved her I just wish this wasn't part of our story. My mom ended up turning to religion her faith made her happy. I didn't understand and honestly still don't today. She struggled with mental health her entire life. My kids gave her so much love. When she found out she was going to be a great grandma she was so happy. I backed away because I wanted her to have some happiness in her life. I regret that choice now. She took her life on Nov 10th 2022. I never saw it coming I thought she was ok. I have always wanted to confront him. He was literally at family reunions and big family get togethers. I didn't want to make my mom's life worse so I held it in. I was determined to after she passed to find out he died the same week. I don't understand why people say this is God's plan. God wanted all this? I spent most of my life watching my mom live a hell no one should have to live. I live knowing I came from nothing good. You are not a mistake. You are here, and this world is a better place because of it. I adopted a child with fetal alcohol syndrome. I love him with my whole heart despite his struggles with drugs and alcohol. He is this way because his mother drank heavily for the first 4 months of her pregnancy. That is a fact. Neither her nor my son are to blame for their behaviour. Please know that you did nothing wrong. You had parents who raised you and loved you dearly. I feel privileged to be my sons mother. I'm sure your adopted parents felt the same way. Be proud of who you are, and know that you are loved. Blessed Be from Canada ❤

I know that sometimes a brother takes the blame for what a girl’s father has actually done. Because the father - often the sole breadwinner, in the past - will be prosecuted, the family will be destitute and broken up. An underage boy taking the blame is presented as being less “harmful” to the family as a whole.

Actually you're right, as far as I know, incest between siblings (let alone consensual) is less common than between parents and their children. I also think that it's weird that the bio mom agreed to see her but then ghosted her, and I don't fully see the point of lying about the guy that she took with her not being her brother if the daughter already knew she was born from incest, but then taking him with her anyway. I'm not saying that the bio mom's father was the actual bio dad but I don't think it's impossible.

Interesting. I’ve also heard a case where A father was sexually abusing his daughter. His daughter then started abusing her younger brother- lasting until the brother turned 15. She was being abused by her father and having an incestuous relationship with her younger brother. Horrible these situations are some people’s reality.
