Mark the last I heard was that Thetford recommend emptying the flush before traveling as it isn't a sealed unit

Our fridge did exactly the same thing (same make and model) 🤔. We are about to go away and noticed difficulty in connecting the water intake hose - diagnosis was the two seals on the connection had perished and we also need to replace the Power Touch Motor mover brush covers. There's always maintenance to do.... Learnt a lot of new things here. 👍👍

Further - I think it is an EXCELLENT idea fir a dealer like yourself to go away in a caravan fir a break/holiday before putting it up for sale. In the case of 2nd hand vans there may be little issues or glitches that only become apparent ehen you have used everything in the van a few times (as you would, when going away in it). Then you will KNOW whether any work is required before sale.

Our 2022 challenger x 835 had to have a new burner/valve fitted under warranty as it would not work on gas at all, no matter how many times I cycled the fridge it would not fire at all. Took 7 months for the part to come, then once fitted works like a good un now, great video guys 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks, a lot of useful points, I will not be rushing out to buy one of those style of wheel locks, though!! Mainly as ours is a single axle!! 😃 but if it were a twin axle it looked like a bit of a faff!! Take care & all the best!!

To check if the gas is working on the fridge, just put your hand over the upper fridge vent. If there is a flame you will feel warm air coming out of the vent, this also works with the ALDE heating on gas, you can feel the hot air on the inlet/exhaust vent. I also check the Smoke and CO2 alarms as though they do squeak to tell you the battery is going flat this will eventually run out and you may not of noticed.

Great informative video, what caravan technicians check on a service however you forgot a few checks which are most important!!! Smoke alarm, Co2 Alarm and fire extinguisher are they in date do they work etc!!. Silent Killer Co2 - Most people take out batteries on smoke alarms because of burning toast etc, really important to keep them working and in date.

I am guessing the initial difficulty with getting the fridge to work on gas was simply that, with being off for a while, you had a small air bubble in the pipe. Obviously turning on & off a few times and trying to get it lit on gas, after a couple of minutes or so, all will be OK.

Alko locks usually give a discount on insurance if you have them, Caravan Club does anyhow. Think its 15% if you use them

Hi Mark Regarding the Alde heater, As long as the glycol is full you can heat van with no water in boiler, Apparently hot water system gets hot from indirect contact with c/h hot glycol. Hope I made sense of this. All the same as always a great vid, mate ,Thanks. Enjoy your hols Regards Richard

Really useful video thanks. I found our Thetford flush wasn't working despite all the fuses being ok. Unpeeling the flush button sticker, extracting the pump and freeing up the impeller got it working, but wondered if there is a way of preventing that seizing up. The pink fluid doesn't seem to act as an inhibitor or softener. I'm thinking of putting it a few litres of white vinegar at the end of the season before draining. Wondered if you'd come across a better fix / preventative measure?

10% bleach to water, fill your flush tank, leave for a few hours then flush it through, empty all into cassette then empty, refill with clean water and repeat. This should stop the black bits clogging the system and pump. 👍

Hi Mark, after i have pressurised my system up my pump seems to come on on its own accord sometimes during the night whilst sleeping. i have certainly no leaks just wondered if you had any other checks i could do ? great videos by the way.

Hi Andrew, check when you remove the pump if water keeps coming back out, also the seals on the water pipe outside, if all that looks OK, just make sure every tape is well run through to make sure no air is in the system. 👍

Can you swap out the cooker for a freezer, same height. Would never use a cooker, cosori 26qt ceramic airfryer oven on top of freezer, it even has a ceramic hob inside for pan or metal kettle. Can you also fit a ceiling air-conditioning unit, thinking spain long term site. Good vids..

when you are looking for leaks from the gas cylinder, use some fairy liquid with water mixed on joints, as a bubble forming disclosing fluid. As well as this, water leaks can develop any time with the caravan having so much movement and vibration. To accommodate for this, when I go to sleep or leave the caravan unattended, I always press the water pump button into the off position. That way you don't empty the full contents of your water hog into the caravan through a leak, when you are unaware.

Why didn't you just wind the Gemini to fit, instead of changing the wheel bolts. I use that lock and leave the recievers on the wheels and adjust the gemini. Much easier I think. Great informative video though

Hi Mark I noticed the middle down spot light was not working. One of ours was the same, I was told to put two flat head screw drivers in and pull down , I did this but it was glued in. What is the best way to change them?

Hi, I think it's the switch in the middle on ours, but yes trying to work it down with a few flat heads will normally work, if you have a replacement just check for any tabs or anything else that may hold it in, the only other thing is undoing the plastic surround, but they are normally a pain to remove.

G'Day Mark - just wondering how big an issue you have in the UK with Caravan theft? Whilst we do have the occasionally issue here is Australia (mostly from long term storage), it is very rare to see anyone putting a lock on their towball or wheels if parked up in a van park or showground etc!
