Clear and concise. You mentioned something I wanted to know but knowbody seemed to know. When to start turning the van is the pivot point. So my understanding is to get the caravan wheel level or slightly past the cone then to start the turn. I'm now going to start practicing. It begs the question, by do people want to come and look?? Is it to make you fell humiliated and do they hope it all goes wrong. In the good old days there were the humble stocks, a public flogging or execution, a great fun filled day for all the family to enjoy.

Really good video, purchased my first new caravan on Saturday and first manoeuvre was a straight line reverse onto a pitch - didn’t go too badly but made an adjustment by hand after unhooking caravan. Day after I had to reverse into a storage yard space which was a 90 degree right hand manoeuvre, again went pretty well. As stated in the video, speed is the key, take your time and keep watching how the caravan is reacting to your steering inputs. Having an assistant is very helpful as well and if you lose sight of them, stop until you can see them again

Excellent demonstration and simple common sense advice. Thanks for highlighting the need for slow speed reversing. Well done!

Another sneeky tip iff on your own. Get a second/old smartphone put it in rear window on a a whatsapp video call, basically an improvised reversing camera

This is a great video. Two crucial bits of information missing in the dialogue I need help with. When the instructor talks about full steering lock he doesn’t say which way? Also on the clips where we see the caravan being reversed onto the pitch the direction of the tow car’s front wheels have been clipped out (at 7mins 40 seconds for example).

He only described reversing using your mirrors, what about when you turn around and look out of your windows?

Hi don't suppose you can help me, our caravan automatically sets handbrake on when reversing or trying too, I simply don't reverse it now and take off the hitch and use motormover
@caravanguard3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, could you send a photo of the hitch to info@caravanguard.co.uk for my attention please? On older hitch systems there was a lever that needed to be "clicked in" when you want to reverse, which could have become stuck. It might be worth getting the hitch head serviced. Hope this helps? Liz
