The idea of attaching a hose connector to one end is pure genius. I have a piece of short hose with a connector but hardly ever use it as I always assume I’ll get to the tap and find I’ll need the push on thing. Also putting the power cable in the top gets you another massive thumbs up. Thanks Dan.

When we got our first caravan in 2011 (having changed from a motorhome) we had trouble with the pump running intermittently. On enquiring with our dealer we were told it was because the pump was coiling upwards in the Aquaroll. They suggested attaching a bag of marbles to the tube of the pump to weight it down, so that’s what we did. I made a small bag from an old net curtain, filled it with marbles, and attached it with cotton tape. It does the job, and is still going strong. Good tip about the mains adapter float. Thanks Dan. We’re just about to embark on a trip where we’ll be on a serviced pitch, so will give it a go. I’ve also bought a “tap splitter” (recently featured in the CAMC magazine, and widely available in DIY and garden stores) to enable me to draw off jugs of fresh drinking water whilst the Aquaroll is still attached. Looking forward to seeing how that works.

One to I picked up from Caravan Finder which makes complete sense is to put your initials on both the aquaroll and wastemaster in permanent marker. Reduces the risk of them growing legs and wandering off!!

When the Aquaroll is in storage, cut up a pair of tights and secure over the opening with a elastic band. This stops anything getting in the Aquaroll and also lets it breathe.

Another top rip is to carry your aqua roll, mains cable and wastemaster in the car. That’s because a) these are some of the heaviest items on your van so this is a great way to ease payload usage leaving more room for clothes and other personal items and b) when you arrive on site these are the first 3 things you need so it’s much better not to have to go rummaging around inside the van lifting beds or opening cupboards etc to get to them and c) when you arrive home simply put them back in the doorway or isle of your caravan ready to go back into your car when you leave again. No need to put them in the shower potentially bashing against the doors whilst driving or having to squeezing them into other awkward places.

Only tip I have is don’t be tempted by the cheaper 50 litre version (sold by a well known cheap supermarket). I was and the handle broke on its first outing. Water is heavy and the plastic connectors were not up to the job. I now have the Aqua roll. Good vd as usual, thanks.
@britsd63975 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, great video as usual. What I do is lay two down and connect them end to end, that way you get 80 litres on tap. It also means you can keep the primary aquaroll in place and able to keep the pump in place and just fill the spare. Using flow stop connectors you can isolate the second one to fill. Not forgetting to loosen the second screw lid or a vacuum builds up and they wont equalise.

Hi Dan very sound information.i have a tip re Aqua rolls.staying on a site in the the south west a couple of years ago a couple had a aqua roll stolen along with the pump by some low life’s who must have been staying on the site. Had a think about this and decided to paint the handle of the aqua roll with some bright paint along with the wastmaster & top of the pump. Also engraved all 3 with my post code house number and initials with a dremel multi tool. This may not stop them being stolen/borrowed by the low life’s but a quick walk round the site you might be able to find them and politely ask for them back 🤔
@frankwbeveridge5 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, by engraving your post code AND house number the "low life" now has your exact home address and can now burgle your house whilst you sit admire your handiwork. Just a thought.

I use an Aquaroll when not on a serviced pitch. When I’m on a pitch with it’s own tap I now use a Colapz Fresh Mini. It works perfectly and saves space and weight over the Aquaroll, which is never more than half full when using the float system. Definitely worth a look.

Nice one :) Thankfully our youngest is very good at both steadies and aquaroll filling when we arrive on site, trouble is he's a bit over excitable so nearly caused me a heart attack when the handle came loose as he was happily wheeling back to the van down a very steep hill towards someone else's van at Trewethett!!!!!! Luckily I was with him so caught the barrel with a foot! Top tip - give the handle a bit of a squeeze about half way down both sides once in a while to ensure it's always firmly attached.

I put mine in the bag right way up not upside down so any muck drops to bottom of the bag and doesn’t affect the filler end. Wash the carry bag now and again I see quite a few folks with a bit of plastic plumbing pipe with a string for filling , the pipe goes into aqua roll then loosely over the tap held in place with string , which gets round trying to fit onto the wide variety of taps To get the aqua roll to tap height I often just stand it on my just emptied waste water container. Rather than a second expensive Aquaroll I have a smaller easily carried , water container with a spout which can be used to top up the Aquaroll perhaps late at night when can’t be bothered going to the tap and it doubles as an easy top up to the toilet cistern.

When storing your aqua roll between trips, mix up 2L of Milton or other steriliser and pour into the aqua roll, screw down the lids and shake. Leave the solution in the aqua roll until your next trip. A quick rinse with fresh water is all you need before using.
@1122geoff5 жыл бұрын
If on a service pitch save the expense of a float and just fill up every day from your hose that is connected to your service pitch tap with a shut off valve attached at the Aqua roll end easy and cheaper , also instead of a short hose to fill the aqua roll at the service taps a short piece of plastic kitchen waste pipe is so much easier than trying to hold the hose on the tap , the pipe just slides over the tap spout .

Hi Dan as always a good watch but here in Australia you very rarely see an aqua role how come you's use them and not under van permanent tanks.

Rodney Cunningham In Europe pitches do not have their own watertap. So you need to get water from a central point at the campsite. In that case permanent tanks are not the easiest things.

Hi Dan. I’m probably being thick but I can’t see how the pump connector tube would work. The pump will surely be too thick to go down the tube. Maybe you could explain this please? Steve
@TheTrudgians5 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, it does depend on the pump (of course) but if you have the truma, you can disassemble the pistol (unclips) and remove the power connections and hose clip, then this allows you to slide the sleeve all the way down, i might show this in a future video. Hope that sort of helps. D
@stevechurchman18245 жыл бұрын
That seems like a bit of a chore to me. I gave up with the Truma pump years ago and now have the Whale equivalent so I don’t actually have a problem. I was just curious as to how it could work. Anyway, another easy to understand video. Well done. Steve.
@davidmbell5 жыл бұрын
Some vans don’t have an external pump, but an internal one and just a narrow hose connected to the pistol inlet / connector, these would be narrow enough to slide down into the Aquaroll tube kit.
@stevechurchman18245 жыл бұрын
I could see how it would work with a pipe. Dan was talking about using it with the Truma pump. I just couldn’t see how it would work with a pump. Steve
