Hi Ian, great advice. Regarding fire extinguishers, small dry powder ones, when used in confined spaces create a mess and can ruin electrical items permanently. There is an extinguisher called JE50 available online which put out class B,C,E & F Fires. There may be others as good but can only go on what I use and my own experience. Also for your watchers please make sure you read instructions on any extinguisher you may own and don’t wait for a fire to start to work out how to use them. Stay safe.

After a service at a caravan dealership we were going to cornwall for our summer holiday.i went and checked the nose weight and it was off the scale.i moved stuff but to no avail.we left thinking the gauge was faulty.14 hours later we arrived to discover the water system was full,the caravan dealer,duncans of wishaw,hadnt emptied it.

That's not good. It's all a learning curve. We are finding out stuff still after two and a half years of caravanning.

Great tips. One thing worth mentioning is make sure you carry some type of Jack in case you get a puncture, we have the Alko Jack which we bought many years ago it came with 2 jacking point brackets. Alternatively a small trolley Jack. Best wishes Jon

Another informative video. I've already got most of these items. Amazon is another great place for stuff (especially for the free delivery for Prime members) and don't forget your local supermarket. I've bought a few things form my local Asda so it is worth checking them out.

If you or any of your readers dont yet have a fire extinguisher, the one we have is a Tundra, it can be used on all fires including electrical plus after you have put out the fire you can clean up the mess from the Tundra without leaving everything damaged. It cost us £15, we have never used it but the reviews are really impressive.

All Al-Ko hitches are rated at 100kg nose weight should always use the lowest figure, the car, the tow bar itself and caravan can all have different limits lowest one should always be used.

Can i please ash What is the correct tyre pressure for a caravan

Hi... yeah that is something that is specific to your make, model and year of your caravan. If you look by the door of your caravan there should be a sticker or aluminium plate with all the weights, wheel torque settings and the tyre pressures on there. My caravan is a 2004 and those details have faded. You should also find them in your caravan handbook. You could also look on the manufactures website for caravan details. Ian....
