I've been a railway engineering professional for over 46 years, a rail fan for over 60, and I think this is the finest little line I've ever seen - if for no other reason, then for its jfdi attitude that makes it work despite everything. But there are lots of other reasons to like it.

The trolley (green and yellow) is cute as a button 😊 I hope to see the upgrade soon and it running ❤ What state is this in? It looks like its in the country obviously, im guessing Vermont? I adore rail lines like this, as everyone would say, brings back childhood memories, not many rail lines like this, its a great passion! Id love to work on it along side your team. Its a labor of love i can tell, i know if i had something like this, i couldn't wait to get off work to take a ride, or work on cars, fix the rails, add in somethings like crossing signals, lije a wigwag, or a waldo. I know trees can be a pain, in the first vid i watched of yours, on a curve, one was in the way, looks like that got cleared, the steepke car runs all over the place now. All in all this looks like fun! 😊

@CNW4145

With this hobby you can spend as much or as little as you want. I build most everything from scrap steel and I repurpose parts from other things to use for it. I spend way less money on it than I ever did in HO scale trains! Of course the rail is the most expensive part, but if you know where to look, you can find good deals on that too.

How do you do the bends and keep the gauge correct? My father was a big H.O guy had a layout in a four car garage in southern Calif. Had rail car moved to the park in town where they had RR club meetings. I love your layout!!
@CNW4145
@CNW4145 3 жыл бұрын
The curves are made by laying the ties out for the route, and then putting some rods in the ground to keep the ties from moving. Then just secure the rail to the ties one at a time, bending the rail a little each time it is secured. Looks dauting but once you get going its quite easy.

This is definitly a different twist on scale railroading! I live in an area where the Illinois Terminal traction line once ran, and 5 miles of roadbed recently became a bike/hike trail. There are other segments of that line that are also bike/hike trails. The IT was the only traction line in Illinois that had overnight sleeping cars between St. Louis, Mo., and Peoria/Danville Illinois.

Following the historical numbering, shouldn't car `60` be `601`? (June 2001) -- The remaining cars seem to be numbered on a MYY scheme.

You aren't wrong, however the number on this car was chosen due to being modeled after a specific prototype. Its the only one that doesnt fit the scheme!
