Having both myself, I agree. With my Pro I'm more diligent on making sure my linear rails are clean and lubricated with way lube after every use. But I just ran some aluminum plate on it and the Pro ate it for dinner even thought I wasn't running optimally with a mist nor single flute. My SO4.....I just kinda run harder than I did my my SO3, but not as hard as my Pro, then just shut it off and walk away for the night. :)

Great comparisons and SWEET SHIRTS! I really wish I had opted for the S3 XL rather than the XXL that I currently have. I don't use the extra capacity and could really use the space in my shop. Hindsight I guess...! You are correct in saying "be honest with yourself" because I knew I probably wouldn't have needed the extra size especially with my first machine.

@@carbide3d like what for example? I'm a total newbie to cnc. I run a metal shop with manual mills. So I get rigidity is key and looking at machines the ball screw of competitor stands out. The linear rails on yours looks good also on pro but the belts i dont care for. I'm really struggling to see the difference that matters I guess. I like yours has the waste table included. And I like the competitors easy tear down. I want a good product to produce good results for all my followers and customers. Seems your competitors are taking all the influencers and providing them these machines and their taking them for some reason. When Myers switched over I was shocked so I wanted to just ask and see what your all take on it. I'm sure either will work for me but I don't want to regret this purchase....like anyone I'm sure. Yep, not much of an upgrade. They are being smart business people and making an “new” model so they can raise the price. This is how you stay in business. The shapeoko is an awesome first cnc. When Winston is taking about more precision in the 4 I would really want to see him prove that. There are many factors that control precision and repeatability and a cnc this light weight it will be very hard to keep repeatable dims and tolerances.
