Andy, I recently found your channel and have been absorbing everything I can from your video's and others. I am a woodworker but not running it as a business. I do own a business and I have thought about starting to make a little extra as a side hustle. I really enjoy your videos and have learned quite a bit already. Really appreciate your honest, organized, and direct messages. I have a question about your double stack CNC cabinets. Do you ever need to get to the sides or back of the machines? Even for repairs or improvements, does that mean taking them out? I would like to put a CNC in a cabinet such as that but wonder if it would be worthwhile to make the platform it sits on so it could slide out like a drawer. Any thoughts?

Wholesale is ok if you don't mind doing repetitive work for volume over profit. Helps when you live in a cheaper area and access a retail market in a more expensive area, so that the profit cut from selling wholesale isn't as bad. Since I live in the bay area, it doesn't make sense for me. I can't compete with you midwesterners :P

Two factors that win in the marketplace: 1. Relationships. 2. Good Design. These will increase your success rate.

You also need to separate yourself from the other makers. If they are making product X, Y and Z you need to either make product A, B C or find a way of matching/beating their price point.

You need a specific thing. I have my secret weapons and very little people are making them, and they’re high end, going to high profile customers. One per city type of things, but keep designing and keep thinking.
