Also, when we talk about the shielding effect, can we refer to the electronegativity of the element next to Carbon when describing the amount the shielding we have? Like for example when you said, "Oxygen is deshielding", could you have said, "Oxygen is more electronegative, and thus pulls away the electrons"?

at 6:00 you say that the last carbon with the -OH next to it is less shielded so more affected, but the writing on the right says if it's less shielded so therefore less affected? I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding or if one of them was a mistake
