The emotions this album conveys is incredible. I always come back to it. If you're having a tough time dealing with the loss of a loved one, please know, it was never goodbye. Love never dies. Honor them by living your best life and remembering what they and the experience as a whole taught you. Much love to everyone.

I understand exactly what you're trying to say. It's weird, because other ambient producers just don't sound quiiiiite right. But CBL know how to build a complete album that just works. I have the same feeling about their music. It has to be something about frequency. Some music just sounds good and we like it but some triggers the very core of our consciousness. I guess there is music for the mind and music for the soul. And CBL music is for both :')
@alexanderwicked89907 жыл бұрын
It's not only frequency - it's rhythmic delays and their hallmark liquid SFX, as well as pads/drones washed by the long reverberation. Also they use subtle side-chaining on their bass lines quite a lot that creates rhythmic pump feeling.
@coldsideofthesun7 жыл бұрын
Same. I think it's because CBL isn't afraid to bring the warm feelings of the new age genre into their music. So it's kind of dark and atmospheric, yet warm, glowy, smooth. It's what sets them apart from anyone else and why I've loved them for so many years.

I dunno about Sweden, but I'm Danish and our languages are similar but spoken with different accents. In Denmark we would say/write "Natvæsen", and it would mean "night creature" or "night being"...and listen to the voice in the track; "they were friendly creatures"..."Væsen" is mostly used for weird beings, it has a negative vibe to it when it's used correctly...Not really a word that is used much anymore either.

^Mythical being is a better word. At first I saw a being like a troll when I saw the word again. But I shouldn't have said "negative vibe". Væsen is more like "an unknown". But by old standards the unknown could probably often be seen as a potential threat. Like we still use væsen when we refer to a space alien here in Denmark; Rumvæsen. Or since "Ronja Røverdatter" is a swedish story, maybe CBL are thinking about "Rumpenisserne". hehehe

Nattväsen sounds almost Slavic. Given that the Swedes were neighbours to the Slavs and "Nattväsen" means literally "Night Creatures" in Swedish, as well as the Slavs being strong believers in such creatures (imps, demons etc) this song resonates extremely well. Utterly beautiful.

I dedicate that song to the Lemurians, who are thought to live within Mt. Shasta in Northern California.

I've been listening to that album many times, and I found that it has a rare quality. It allows me to get in a state of mind that, I think, is similar to meditation. It's like all of life's noise momentarily dim down while the song slowly brings my consciouness within itself, to a place of peace. I'm not an esoteric person, yet I feel like the experience is deeper than just music.

your description is so pure and comes from a place that only when listening to this music one can experience, thank you for putting it into words for others to read. I agree with you completely.
