An option, prior to selling if you do that, is to route a channel in the bamboo for an allen key with a magnet to hold it in place. Tuning? Just grab your key off the back. Could also do it where is slides in like a stylus for a phone with a little slot. No matter what, cool guitar, cool concept!

You can add hemispherical-ish grovers in between the tuner's body and tuner's knob to lower the friction and thus allow for easy tuning by hand. Like it's done in a lot of similar tuners.

I’m astounded that it turned out this well and on time! I’ve had issues with tuners like that. I just cut down little bits of shim stock like two each with a drop of oil between. They solved the issue

Love it. I have just completed my build. I built my onw headless tuning system. Mine also needs an alan key. So, I have a volume, tone and alan key :) So, it looks like a knob but you can pull it out and it has the key attached. I had the advantage of knowing before hand. Anyway love the neck, great job.

maybe you can do a recess routing of the "string lock", to have it 2mm deeper into the fretboard. I really like the tube neck

Great idea. LOVED the music as well, you play beautifully (opening) and also have a huge sound (would've liked a snippet of how it sounds through an amp with no effects, but hey). Loved the "stoner shoegaze" tones, reminds me a tiny bit of the Austin band Grivo. Do you post your music on Bandcamp by chance? Out of curiosity, would an Evertune bridge have worked better in your vision (taking away the color specificity, not sure if Evertune make red bridges), and do you plan to create another guitar with this similar concept but being able to take more time to work out the things about this guitar you weren't satisfied with? It sounds like you build a lot of guitars, looking forward to checking your past builds.

An Evertune would have required me to add a headstock and tuners. I don't think I'll make another. I have never made the same guitar twice. Thanks for watching!

That's an awesome guitar design! First thing I thought of when I saw the finished piece, is that another cool use for that would be to remove the bridge pickup and just have a piezo setup. You could even run classical guitar strings on it. It might be even more of a niche guitar, but personally, playing acoustic type stuff on a carbon fiber finger board would be great!

Had the same tuning issue with an early version of a nova bridge (only a nylon washer like it was delivered was not working) - some cheap thrust bearings from amazon fixed this immediately.

This was nearly a 7-string. The three tubes would have worked much better with a wider 7-string neck.

I tried it. I machined custom polymer washers out of UHWMP. But I couldn't remove the metal grommets. I'm not sure how they are are installed on there and didn't want to break anything. I'll send the washers to whoever wins the raffle.

So I had a question about the the carbon fiber tubes for neck construction. In your opinion is there any logic to, in addition to using the 3 tubes, stacking 2 smaller tubes given the neck more of a C or D shape?

I tried all that. Filmed it too. It all ended up on the cutting room floor. In the end I opted for the cleaner look. But it is certainly possible to make a more rounder C shape. The easiest way to do that is use a 16mm tube running down the center and flank it with smaller 12mm or 10mmm tubes to each side.

There was a cab. It was just an unusual signal chain. One of the secrets to the shoe gaze sound is running a fuzz AFTER the reverb. There must have been three delays and two reverbs in that signal chain. I'll admit it was a bit experimental.
