Installed the brace today, and it does work - I can tell the rear of the car is stiffer when taking a corner at speed. Raceline doesn't include instructions in the box and offers very basic instructions on their web site, so the DAP video is a must view prior to installing. Total time to install was less than 45 minutes and not tightening fasteners made alignment and final fit much easier. Overall - a great addition to the car (2017 GTI) and the current suspension set-up (24mm rear sway bar plus Koni Sport shocks and struts).

I have one of these and can reiterate to be careful torquing those small screws, they are a soft stainless steel and will strip the heads very easily. I wound up getting regular steel screws, then you can properly torque the screws with no worries. It is the only part of this kit that should be improved IMO. Additional notes: 1. You do need to partially tighten the center brackets before you start to adjust the pretensioner otherwise the brackets are not straight on the bar. So tighten them enough so there is no play but they can still slide on the bar. 2. Do not put to much torque on the pretensioner otherwise you will hear popping as the brackets slip from to much tension when going over very bumpy roads. From trial and error I found it is best if you adjust the tensioner until the angle bars are no longer loose and then another half turn. Doing anymore than that does not help and can start to cause slipping. You want tension but not to the point where the center bar starts to bend. I have this on a Golf R which has other suspension modifications like coil overs, sway bars, all stiffer poly bushings, front LCA's and camber plates. I cannot really say that I noticed a huge improvement in handling just from this brace, but it definitely stiffens the chassis and is noticeable hitting bumps the cars has noticeably less chassis judder. i am sure it helps with handling but it is difficult to quantify. So I don't think I could tell if it was installed or not from a handling perspective , but driving on the street yes, if that helps? Now the front brace from Eurocode, that made a very noticeable improvement in handling and rigidity. I would recommend both but if you could only afford one you get a lot more bang for your buck with the front brace. Probably because it is attached directly to the strut mounts, and in a McPherson strut suspension that added rigidity has a big effect in suspension deflection.

This would be a great addition to my MK7 GTI because I am beginning to notice some creaking in the rear hatch portion of the vehicle. I believe the reason for this issue is because I have an 034 motorsports rear sway bar, plus end links. Love the way the car rotates in a corner because of the sway bar, but I'm hearing the chassis flex. Plus I've done a few track days for good measure. Hope I win this great piece!
