How did this hold up? I have a few sticks I'm going to tackle myself. With my experience doing carbon fiber jetski hull repairs I brush a layer on epoxy resin on and let it tack up first. Once you place the carbon there's no chance in hell it's coming off. Then I layer it up to make sure I get all the air out of the weave. Tough without having a vacuum bagging setup but I can't justify the price of a good setup

I have just a small chip in my blade. Do you think just the JB weld will do the trick?

Sure, just sand it to roughen it up so it sticks well. Thx for watching!

Turned out great for 1st try. My grandson was jazzed to have his extra stick back and has used it without issues! Thx for watching!

@@Housebarons Thanks for the video! I have tried JB weld to repair the bottoms of stick blades however, after one practice with some slap shots my 13YO Son chips off a good portion of that epoxy. I wonder how your repair would hold up to an older kid taking harder shots.......assuming your grandson is younger :)

Good job for 1st time, I think the entire blade was overkill....next time get a 4 inch carbon fiber sock.

Could u ball park how much all the materials cost ?

Short answer / longer answer: About $100 - 30 for 4 sq ft of aircraft grade carbon fiber mesh, $70 for the total boat 1qt epoxy kit. I only used 1 sq foot of the carbon fiber, and a small number of ounces (5?) of epoxy. The actual cost per application might be $15?? I have other plans for the remainder of the carbon fiber and epoxy - best way to economize if you have multiple projects in mind. Hope that helps.
