This is nice. It's funny too because I'm about to start doing carbon fiber parts as well. Still learning and gathering information

Nice work as always. What are those metal clips called you pushed onto the 3D printed part?
@CarbonWorkshops2 жыл бұрын
Just dash clips from ebay 👍

What material did you use for the 3D printed parts? PLA, PETG? Cheers.
@CarbonWorkshops2 жыл бұрын
I actualy don't know sorry. I designed the clips but had a guy make them for me.
@luis7899 Жыл бұрын
Dont use PLA inside a vehicle. it will melt with temperatures above 55C. PETG widthstands higher temperatures and is stronger mechanically than PLA.

Buongiorno, volevo chiederti informazioni sul forno, devo acquistarlo in questi giorni per la lavorazione del prepeg, volevo sapere se veramente funziona e si estraggono i particolari come in video?

Nice work man! Love your vids and your channel btw! for clearcoating stickers/decals on carbonfiber I choose the way to first lay up to 3 additional layers of Epoxyresin topcoat and the lay on the clear - for what? During the process of curing the solvents went out and the clear "lays down" - so the decals will "come up" through the clear within the time and it looks not that good ;-) Otherwise you can spray 5 layers of clear (watch out for the drying times inbetween the single layers!) instead of Epoxy, let it dry for a few weeks, sand it with 1000grit and again put 5 Layers of clear on. So after that, the decals look like "fabric" if as they were OEM ;-)

Beautiful parts! When you put the tabs on the back, how do you make sure they are in the exact right spot?

Thanks! I use a Digital Vernier Caliper and measure clips from original part.

Question - how can I make a mirrored image part. For example a custom fender flare that matches exact mirror image from left to right?
@CarbonWorkshops2 жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure, I'd guess lots of templates. Or have a pattern 3d printed

Finish is amazing! Is it really that good right out the oven?? No need to sand before clear coat?
@CarbonWorkshops2 жыл бұрын
No straight from oven is never perfect. And always sand before clear coat. This was a fast video which skipped a few steps. Check out my other videos for more detail 👍

@@CarbonWorkshops Good evening, how you understand where is right place for internal fitting clips?
@davidmooney48662 жыл бұрын
I guess it might have helped everyone if you said what was being sprayed! Was it just a gloss varnish? (What type)
