This is a great idea, I thought about hooking 2 filters to a y connector and pulling air out that way to get extra scrubbing. The idea of having one just recirculating air and then another pulling air out of the room makes a lot more sense. I also learned something else, tape before you put the silencer on. I don't know why I didn't do it that way. I run the same setup, phresh filters, hyperfans, and silencers, and I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. it's okay to laugh at me. lol

my ten inch with cAN filter.. holy cow! SUPER powerfull and pulls negative pressure like WHOAH!. absolutely NO more smell anymore! i took your advice... but one thing is the phresh filters flanges are SUPER thin and very cheap.... and ive yet to get one sent to me undamaged....talked to the company about how to easily fix the issue of sending really heavy filters with cheap thin metal. thanks for all your help everest!

+northCALIFA Hey northCALIFA-sounds like you're firmly on top of your grow room environment! Good stuff! I've not personally encountered any problems with the phresh flanges but I'm going to take a closer look-I have so many of them-and compare with other brands. Might make an interesting vid .... hmmmm "COMPARING FILTER FLANGES 101" .... lol ... okay maybe not :)

Only going to be good if you have either Air cooled shades or an intake thats pulling in cool air. Without either your going to have high heat levels

Hi Everest great show, what’s your take on running a uv-c lamp for helping to sterilise your sealed grow room with the plants in. And to help keep the dreaded powder mildew at bay. I have been running this on a sealed environment and it seems to run well. Ps yes I know it’s a Carcinogenic and there is no body’s present in the room when the system is run.

What about adding a smaller fan the draws out a portion of the exhaust after it goes through the filter?

Will a scrubber be fine in a small 4x4 tent in a cooler basement if I’m not exhausting any of the air. Going to be planting 4 autoflowers and if i run an exhaust fan i feel like it will be to cold. I do have a small space heater but im going to be relying partially on the lights etc. to help with the temp until spring time.

Question for you I have a 8x16 room that I want to grow in but after checking prices on equipment for a sealed room it’s just out of my range . So I’m thinking of using one of the only things that’s still free ...air... I’m a bit confused on air intake and air output I’ve seen these dust-shrooms they say help with the inlet side ...for pest purpose and I guess a scrubber set up inside and a filter for venting...any suggestions would be appreciated

+Mark Griggs Yes, every 6 to 12 months depending on how dark it looks. Chuck it in the washing machine and drier-make sure it's properly dry before you put it back on.

Is this as affective as having it hung up drawing the air out of your tent? Are you just using a regular carbon filter and inline fan?
@Just4Growers8 жыл бұрын
+greenboy93 Hi Greenboy. The key difference between a scrubber and an extraction / carbon filter set up is that the scrubber essentially recirculates the resulting clean air back into the growing environment-the same air, therefore, will likely pass through your scrubber multiple times. So, for maximum effectiveness, hang the scrubber in your tent but don't duct the air out. I understand that space can be a bit tight in grow tents, especially with lights, fans, and the carbon filter / extractor. I recommend the Skinny filter if this is the case.
@greenboy93548 жыл бұрын
+Everest Fernandez (Just4Growers) would this work if you just wanted to smoke in your room? As in if i got my carbon filter out and hooked my fan upto it like you have and placed on the floor could i smoke in my room and this would suck the smoke into it and push out clean fresh air so knowone could smell i was smoking?

Nuclear reactors are an excellent way to produce greenhouse gas free electricity and they could power these carbon scrubbers. New advances such as small modular reactors built on an assembly line and trucked out to sites around the globe that could be as common as a Walmart or a hospital. Truly enabling a local power grid coupled with wind and solar. Make no mistake that there are forces that want to make nuclear power so expensive that it's not viable. When you look at the worst case scenarios of Chernobyl and Fukushima you can see that nuclear power is truly not the boogeyman that people want to make it out to be, but rather the overreaction to an accident. I recommend podcasts such as Titans of Nuclear and lots of KZbin channels educating on how nuclear power works, including the economics. I would much rather live next door to a nuclear power plant than a coal or natural gas plant.

Does a scrubber have any effect on taste of product, or hurt people living in room?
@Just4Growers7 жыл бұрын
+bassmansoundking99 No, on the contrary amigo, it makes the grow room a more pleasant and healthy place to be. No direct effect on taste as far as I can see, just fewer contaminants.

The grow room is my bedroom so I am breathing the carbon all day...I feel it gives me a headache and sore throat
@shoegod23118 жыл бұрын
so if I have a carbon scrubber do I need to vent out the old air still
@Just4Growers8 жыл бұрын
Yes you do-unless you are supplementing with CO2, removing heat with AC or chiller, and removing humidity with a dehumidifier (i.e. a sealed room set-up) you will still need to vent out the old air and bring in fresh air. The primary reason for this is that plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air and, if you don't replace the air with fresh air, they will run out of carbon dioxide-which is essential for photosynthesis.
@chriscalyx87257 жыл бұрын
+Everest Fernandez (Just4Growers) Hey man. I love your videos. I don't understand what you just said. after a "sealed room" set up you just said you'd still need to bring in fresh air ? I thought that's what co2 was for.
@turbosupra2jzdragracingtob2498 жыл бұрын
Are you sure co2 settles? Lol
@Just4Growers8 жыл бұрын
Interesting question Toby-obviously it's a good thing that CO2 doesn't settle in normal atmospheric conditions otherwise we'd have long since suffocated in a stratification layer of CO2 and other heavy gasses at ground level! However, when we artificially elevate CO2 in a confined space (for the purposes of increasing photosynthesis) it's a good idea to help molecular diffusion with an oscillating fan. I'd be happy to continue this discussion if you think this notion of settling is erroneous! Lifelong learner :)
