Seems large for a 500....maybe it just looks large....optical illusion? From the website for the Carbon X: "Consistent & Powerful Drag - 3 premium oversized carbon washers" Not sold yet. Compare with Okuma Ceymar 500 Tactical anyone?

This reel has way better drag vs the icx 500's. All four of my icx 500 reels have lope sided spools which cause the drag system to feel "sticky". I tried to degrease the carbon discs but it didn't help at all. Disappointed forsure.

How much smaller is 500 vs the 100 x 2. Line listing shows 87 yards 4 lb test on 500. The new model doesn't come in 500 but afraid 1000 might be to big

@Piscifun trout. I am thinking of it for a 6 ft ul fast action st croix avid. Both appear light enough but how much different in size. For instance I'm running a vanford smallest they make think 500 on a 5.6 inck loomis g3 love it

@@thomascrompton7775 1000 is perfect for inland trout, that’s what I use. Not a huge difference from the 500 just a little larger. Perfect size

@@Piscifun take a look at the Mitchell mag pro extreme 200 on KZbin, kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5ilYpR_qtieZrs It's a perfect size for ice fishing and ultra-light setups. The only problem with them is you can't get them in the States without dealing with customs when ordering from Poland or UK. Also why don't companies use full ceramic bearings (Si3N4), it's 1/3 the weight of steel, which is a significant difference if you're using 10 or more bearings.

You mean backreel switch? Most people don’t backreel using a 500 so it wasn’t a critical function.

@@Piscifun no like the instant stop when you stop reeling. I like zero play in the reel when I stop reeling for hook sets. On your website it says “anti reverse not available on the 500 and 1000 series carbon x”
